THE HILLEBRAND'S: Steeplegate Weekend

This weekend we spent in Davenport! Every year around this time, friends of mom and dad all get together along with there families for a weekend getaway. I wasn't going to go this year but decided, nothing is more important right now that spending time with my parents. Life is too short and the Jazzercise district meeting I was supposed to go to can wait. So Tom and I booked a room and enjoyed the weekend along with Cooper. Micayla and Brandon had other plans so they stayed back in DBQ.

I took the day off Friday to get things ready to go. Cooper and I did some running around and by the time we got home, napped and ready to go, Tom was home from work and off we went. We got to the hotel about 5:30 and got all checked into our room. We were supposed to be on the first floor but some things got all messed up so we ended up on the 2nd floor overlooking the pool, it was nice but a pain carrying everything up (there is not an elevator). Later that night after we were all settled in, we we decided to go grab something to eat. Normally, we would have stayed there and ate in the restuarant but Tom was so mad about our room change that he said "I am not giving them anymore of my money". If you know Tom, you can only imagine! We ended up with Chick-Fil-A and it was pretty good, the nuggets that we got for Cooper were the best, too bad he liked them too. LOL

Mom and dad brought Cooper's walker, it's amazing all the stuff you need to keep the kids occupied.

Friday night, we got kicked out of the atrium because someone complained we were too loud, so we moved out into the hotel lobby! Cooper was sounds asleep but around midnight he woke up for his pacifier so Tom went up and decided he'll just stay there. We brought the video monitor and when I went to look on it when he got up there, here is what I saw! LOL Sorry honey! Tom got new pants and he kept saying all day that he felt like his ass crack was hanging out, oops, I guess it was, but only when he bent over like that.

Gary and Erica came down for the night and Ryan loved playing with Cooper.

Saturday morning, we got up and headed down to the restaurant for breakfast. Cooper slept until 7:30!! He must like sleeping in his pack and play or the sound machine we got, but he slept great all weekend.

After breakfast we headed up to get our swimming gear. Gary, Erica, Gordon and Lorlie and all the kids were getting ready too. All I can say is Cooper LOVES to swim!! He had so much fun, unfortunately, Tom and I both left our phones in the room so we didn't get any pictures but I'll assure you we were in there for about an hour, we were very pruny..

After swimming, Tom and I, Gary, Erica and the kids and Gordon, Lorlie and Gavin all went to Hooters for lunch. Cooper fell asleep so he stayed back with Grandma and Grandpa. After Hooters we hit Babies R' Us then headed back to the hotel, it was such a rainy day we didn't really want to be outside.

When I got back, Marie's granddaughter, Caroline, had Cooper. She was in heaven!! Cooper was on her hip most of the night, it was so funny watching them and Cooper loved it.

Cooper has finally figured out how to get his goldfish out of the container!! He'll stick a few fingers in and grab a couple at a time, it's so cute watching him.

Gavin brought his walker as well so him and Cooper were having races. LOL Gavin kept going backwards and Cooper, well, he just stayed there unless you had food in your hand, then he'd walk towards you to eat it.

Cooper fell asleep about 8:00 Saturday night and slept all night long!! He stirred about 5:00, I think if I would have given him his pacifier he would've fallen back asleep but I wanted him in bed with me to snuggle with, we didn't get to snuggle much since everyone wants him all the time, so he fell back asleep in my bed, we had queen beds so Tom and I each had our own bed. I know, it's pathetic, but I'm sure we're not the only ones....

Here is Cooper sound asleep in my bed, he didn't wake up until 8:30, actually it was 9:30 because daylight savings time began. He was one tired little boy. I love watching him sleep and I know he loves mommy's bed.

Once he woke up, we were too late for breakfast so we went down to mom and dad's room to chill with them for awhile. Andy came with Gavin to play with Cooper.
