12 month well visit

Last Tuesday the 19th, Cooper had his 12 month well visit! This one he was not happy to be at, probably because he knew he had to have shots, so we asked Grammy to come along. I was thinking it was going to be 5 shots, but it was only 2 shots, just 5 things (I know I don't remember what the shots were even for) all in 2 different vials. So just one shot in each leg! He didn't like it one bit!

Mom and Cooper in the waiting room.

I didn't get any other pictures but he just wasn't too happy. Dr. Adkins said he has another ear infection, poor guy, momma didn't even know it! He did pull on his ear a couple of times but thought he was just playing! So he's on Amoxicilian for a few more days.

His stats are low on the charts but she's not concerned.

Height - 28" (14%)
Weight - 18 pounds 8 ounces (4%)

My little man is a peanut!!

I could not get him to sit still to take a picture of his band-aids but we tried.

That's not a smile, he's pissed at me for taking his picture. (maybe a little smile the closer I look at it) LOL

And I forgot I had this on my phone. Here is Alice working on Cooper's birthday board. She did everything but the pictures at home and we were on our lunch break! She did a fabulous job!

John Deere Birthday Party

Cooper celebrated his birthday Friday night along with lots of family and friends. I feel so bad because I didn't get one single shot of just him!!

A picture of the family (minus Brandon, he decided not to come home after school) we all wore John Deere shirts!!

My friend Alice made this for Cooper. She did a fantastic job and loved doing it!! We were going to have people write a special message on it but decided not to. I can't wait to show Cooper this as he gets older!

My friend Julie came over early to help decorate and brought Cooper a gift. It was a JD tool belt and hat, too cute. She also got him some JD sippy cups. He's not a big hat wearer, he likes to take them off, but he seemed to like this one.

I am not the best picture taker, I get held up with everything and I forget to take pictures but I did capture a few.

Tractor and Tire cookies for all the guests.

JD sippy cups and crayon rolls for the young kids and JD stadium cups filled with candy for the older kids.

The party favor table!

Tom, Linda and myself made oreo balls last weekend and just kept them in the refrigerator. They are too die for! Linda decorated the basket.

The silverware was wrapped and put into an Easter basket that was a tractor! Awesome find at Hobby Lobby!

The birthday cake and smash cake!

Uncle Luke came to celebrate!! We were so happy to see him but sure missed Steph and the kids. They were there in spirit though!

Cooper crawling around waiting for the party to start.

Let the party begin! We had a wonderful turnout, lots of family and friends. We made sloppy Joe's, Tuna and Egg salad (it was Friday during Lent) we also had Linda's homemade mac and cheese, a relish tray, chips and dip and mom brought Papa Murphy's cheese bread. Everything was so good!

Gavin had fun playing with Copper's laptop.

Then it was time for cake!! Cooper didn't really know what to think of it but I know he thought it was yummy!

After cake we got cleaned up, Gavin joined us in the tub (again no pictures) but they loved taking a bath together. It was time to open the presents! Cooper got new JD jammies (again, no good pictures) LOL

He got so many nice gifts. He got a sand and water table from The Hendricks' to play outside with, if it ever warms up. A picnic table from all The Ryan's and lots of other toys and cloths. We are using the money we got to get Cooper a wagon! We want a good one with big wheels to take camping with us so we can pull him around in!

We tried getting a picture of Gavin, Cooper, Ryan and Taylor, this was the best we got.

The next morning, I was way hungover thanks to my brother for keeping me up and playing pool with him until 3am!! But this is what Tom took, Cooper playing around his toys!

Micayla got Cooper these boots, they are so adorable!

I had so much fun planning Cooper's birthday, it's amazing what you can find out there. Thanks for everyone's help and for all the wonderful gifts. Cooper sure if spoiled and super blessed! He is the light of my life!

And Tuesday is Cooper's one year pictures and I can't wait! I have a special John Deere outfit for him and he gets to smash another cake!!

12 Months Old!

My little devil

It's so hard for me to say I have a ONE year old!! Maybe that's the reason I just can't get myself to post this..after looking back, it's hard to believe how long I've waited for this and now it's already been a year!

Anyway, here are a few things I want to remember about Cooper 12 months of life!

  • You are still wearing size 3 Pampers
  • You are wearing size 12 month clothes, shirts mostly. Pants are still a little too big, you'll walk around the house with your puppy and your pants will slowly fall off, it's so funny!
  • You only take one nap at daycare, but on the weekends and when you're home with me, I usually get two out of you. You'll have one good nap, usually 1 1/2 hour or so.
  • You LOVE to eat! I can't think of anything you don't like.
  • You're a talking machine!! I have no idea what you are saying but I try and talk back to as much as possible.
  • He hates to get his diaper changed, I am so ready to start potty training!! Not really...

  • You are not a fan of getting your picture taken anymore, I have to bribe you or just catch you off guard.
  • You are cruising around, while holding onto things, but you just don't want to let go. You love it when we 'walk' with you.
  • You give the sweetest kisses, not all the time, just when you're in the mood.
  • When I pick you up, when you want to be held, you'll throw your arms up and when I grab you, you'll wrap your arms around me and say "ahhh" like you're so excited!! You even pat my back sometimes, just like I do to you.

  • You LOVE bath time and you love to help me get everything ready. You'll throw everything on the floor or in the tub, you don't like things sitting on the edge.
  • You also have a problem with open doors, you'd rather have all the doors in the house closed, which is OK, but then you want it back open so you can close it again.
  • You still only have 2 teeth!
  • You love your pacifier, you will find this and 'run' for it. I really want to break you of it, but for now I'm fine with it.

  • We go to baby signs class once a month and I think you're catching on, but we need to practice more. You can sign "all done" really good and we're working on the rest.
  • Your favorite toys are anything that's in the cabinet. You love my stacking bowls and you are so smart, you know how to stack them. You'll do this for quite a while or until something else appealing catches your eye.

  • Most nights you sleep all night, but sometimes you just get fussy and wake up and want momma to come in and cuddle with you. I'm OK with this once in a while (please don't make this a habit) normally you just want your pacifier back then you're good to go.
  • We are still breastfeeding! You are really not that into it anymore but I'm just not quite ready to give it up completely. You only drink before bedtime and sometimes in the mornings. I'm ready to give that one up because you are really not interested, you'd rather have some good breakfast, usually whatever daddy is making.
  • Speaking of food, daddy loves that you are eating everything that he does, he's even given you spicy food and you don't seem to mind but I make sure it's only a little bit and that it's not too spicy.

  • You love to go shopping! I don't think you've ever fussed. You love looking around and watching people!
  • The latest thing you've started doing is after you take a drink, you'll go "ahhh" as if it tasted so good and so refreshing. LOL
  • You will wave "bye bye" and you're starting to wave when we say "hi" and you're starting to nod your head "no" I see this alot at daycare, I don't think we'll be able to stop this one!
  • You go to bed usually between 8 and 8:30, sometimes earlier, depending on the day of the week, usually Monday's are an early night to bed.
  • You don't mind getting dropped off at daycare anymore because you know when you get there, Mrs. Angie takes you down to get breakfast, even though you've just eaten at home. It's so funny watching you.

Cooper, you just light up my life, your daddy's too, and your brother and sisters, they love you to death! And you love them to death too. I keep saying this but I can't believe you're ONE!! Next on our agenda is to make you a big brother, say some prayers OK and remember I love you to the moon and back! You are my angel and always will be!

Cooper's "actual" birthday

I cannot believe I have a one year old!! The picture above, this was the only smile I got all day, well when I had the camera in my hand, this stinker did not want to smile! But give him some cake and he was all smiles!

Tonight we wanted to celebrate Cooper's birthday and instead of Happy Joe's (where they sing Happy Birthday and blow horns at you) we decided to eat at The 19th Hole, they have yummy pizza too and it's much quieter. Cooper's Grandma and Grandpa and sister and brother and Brandon's girlfriend all came to help celebrate. Cooper, of course, got spoiled with gifts from his Grandparents. He got some new clothes, a CD and a book. He's one spoiled boy.

Grandma playing with Cooper, check out Cooper's boots - Micayla got them for him for his birthday, they are little John Deere boots, you'll see these again real soon!

He wasn't quite sure what was going on when we started singing.

But he knew what to do when it was time to eat! I didn't let him dig in as I was not prepared with extra cloths but he'll get his shot on Friday!

Getting ready to say "bye bye" to everyone.

Me and my sweet boy, this was taken before we left because he fell asleep the moment his head hit the car seat, he was beat!

Last night as I was putting Cooper to bed, I thought to myself, I need to make a cake!!! I'm so glad I did, it was yummy and of course, who doesn't love birthday cake. So I made this last night before going to bed. Tom decorated it this afternoon before we left for pizza.

Happy Birthday to my sweet, sweet boy. Momma had a good day today, mommy and daddy are going to try and make you a big brother. More to come on that later!
