Seafood Fettuccine!

Tonight we made seafood fettuccine, or I should say Tom made it, I boiled the noodles... We had my parents, Tom's parents and Grandma, we invited them all up for supper. We started with a great appetizer that Linda made, it was with tomatoes, some kind of olive that I don't remember what it was called, and feta cheese. She marinated it or something, I didn't quit get in the conversation that her and my mother were having. All I know is Mom wrote the recipe down. To top her appetizer, we had a lettuce salad to go with it. It was good... then the main course, Seafood Fettuccine. We made it with crab and shrimp and a little Bogle wine to go along with our meal, Old Vine Zinfandel , one of my favs.

It's always so nice getting everyone together, it seems we don't do it enough. Mom and Grandma came with gifts, I don't know why they do this, but Mom brought me a bouquet of carnations and Grandma bought me 2 fall theme hot pads, she must have know we needed them because we did. Grandma's just know, huh?

Today at work I sat with someone in Inside Sales, McGraw-Hill offers a career exchange program which allows you to sit and the other positions available with in the company. It's a great idea, because no one wants to go into a position not knowing what the job consists of so since any advancement within the company usually needs sales experience I thought I would check it out. I really enjoyed sitting with her, but I still don't know if it's for me, but than again I wouldn't know unless I tried it right? Well there is a position available and there will be another one open come January so I have time to think about it. I have mixed feelings about it and I talked to my boss about it and she's all for us advancing ourselves so I might talk to the Head lady in sales and see what she thinks. I like what I'm doing know, however, I feel I need more of a challenge and sales would definitely be a challenge because you have a goal to meet and if you don't meet goal then you don't get a bonus, it's as simple as that, so anyway, enough about what I'm thinking!

I'm ready for the week to be over, tomorrow we have a girl in our dept. leaving and it's her last day so tonight after work I went to pick up Betty Jane Caramel apples... I can't wait to have it. Work paid for it, so it's going to be that much better.

Weekend Part 2

Right now I'm enjoying a cup of hot apple cider, it's so good! This is the one thing I like about fall, it's not favorite time of the year just because I know snow is coming, but I do love to see the leaves turn colors, Honey crisp apples, chili, and hot apple cider, just to name a few of my favorite things. Oh and right now, I'm watching Twilight, again! LOL

My hot apple cider came from Cziper's apple orchard. Tom and I went there yesterday afternoon, they had a big jug of it and man it's good, so we bought a gallon of it. I just heated some up and threw in an apple cider tea bag, it's cooling right now because I got it way too hot. If feels good on this chilly nig ht. Speaking of chili, Tom made some yesterday afternoon, we both had a bowl of it this afternoon, with cheese, sour cream and fritos.

Tom and I headed out last night for a while, it's been a long time it seems like that we went out. The casino's were having what was called Mocktoberfest, there were different tribute bands, such as Shania Twain, Aerosmith, Eagles, Prince and a few others. Tom and I went to the ones at the Diamond Jo, I really wanted to see the Prince band and let me tell you, it was well worth it. The Eagles band was playing before them and they weren't that good, but Prince did the whole act, he dressed like it and all. He even had girls dancing, it almost seemed like a strip tease, they were in lingerie and everything. It was supposed to be kid friendly, however there were not kids at that time anyway. They played all of Prince's hit songs, we really enjoyed ourselves. We went into the Casino for a little while, of course, we didn't win, but we had a good time. On our way home we picked up a Happy Joe's pizza, we ate way too much.

Today, Sunday, was a lazy day. I did most of my cleaning the day before, the one thing I did today was go through my kitchen cabinets. I rearranged a few things so everything fits better and it's much more convenient. I headed over to Grandma's to help her move the items back into the basement, she finally got the carpet laid and the rooms painted. It was pretty painless, there wasn't that much to move. I got home and Tom was lying down taking a nap so I did a few Jazzercise things. Linda will be teaching her 10 songs tomorrow along with 2 strength songs, she's doing so good and it's great to be able to help her.

Tom's back on 3rd this week! I like it so much better than 2nd.

Micayla had to work today and before work she played taxi to Brandon again so he could go biking with his friends. She called just a short while ago and said she is going to a friends and that she'll be home at 8:30. Its nerve racking when she's out driving, but we have to remember we did the same thing and I bet our parents were just as nervous. I really think she learned her lesson yesterday and will not speed!

At the casino last night, I saw a friend that's a cop and I told him about the whole situation and he didn't think she would lose her license but he's wasn't 100% sure either. He said it was a young, new cop, and "they" all were told that they weren't issue enough tickets, nice huh? So they picked on the "new" girl.. oh well, she'll be alright, she just has to fork over her next check to pay for the ticket - $114... I remember when it was like $50 - it's crazy how much a ticket cost. $60 is just for court cost!

Well, I'm going to finish my hot apple cider and watch Desperate Housewives and Brother's and Sister's, but I might have to finish watching Twilight, decisions decisions decisions!

Good new - Bad news

Today was a great day for the us. I got up to teach 8:45 Jazzercise this morning, it was great, Linda, the newest Jazzerciser, taught her all the Aerobic songs she had to learn. Starting the 1st week of October she will be on her own. I'm so excited for her!

After Jazz, I stop at Tom's grandparents house, he went there after he dropped Brandon off for bowling, we sat there for a while then home I went. Once we got home, we decided to go up to the driver's license bureau to get Micayla's license. She's suppose to go 6 months and tomorrow, Sunday, would have been 6 months and unfortunately they are not open on Sunday's or Monday's so I said let's just go up and don't say anything, all they can say is NO. So as her and Tom were up at the counter, I was getting my license change to my new address. I know I haven't done it yet, but anyway they were checking the date of her permit and everything seemed fine, so he got her license! She was so excited, she had to work this afternoon so she was going to get to drive herself. I told her we would fill up her car for her, this time, next time she will have to. Well, Brandon wanted to go to his friends house, so now that Micayla's driving, she's going to be his personal taxi or I should say our taxi as well. So we left the house and I told her to meet us at Hy-Vee to get gas. I pulled out first and figured she was right behind us, well Tom and I were sitting and waiting for them to get there. On our way up Rockdale Rd. there was a cop sitting in one of the parking lots so we called her, I mean we called Brandon since she was driving, to warn her that there was a cop. Well, we waited and waited in the Hy-Vee parking lot and she didn't come. Tom kept trying to call Brandon but he wasn't answering his phone so off we went back up the hill and sure enough the cops got her for going 35 in a 25, not 20 minutes with her license! Of course, the cops were, you know what, but anyway poor Micayla, she was bummed and Tom and I just couldn't believe it!

We are heading out, blog more tomorrow!

Applebees

Tonight I met a group of friends or former co-workers at Applebee's for dinner. I got an email from my friend, Linda, asking if I got asked to go, but I didn't know anything about it, so she asked if I wanted to go. I told her I didn't think so, I was going to stay home and relax, well about 4:00 I got another call from my friend, Jody, asking me the same thing, so I caved in and said I will go. Well, before all that, I left work early to go pick up patches from Urban Hound, she got a bath, and it needed, she was getting pretty skanky, LOL. I picked her up and the lady who owns it is Bob Johanningmeir's sister, he's my uncle, anyway, she said while patches was there, the inspector came, needed a stool sample from all the dogs there so patches did her thing and her she's got worms! Tapeworm, I guess. It looked like rice in her poop and they say that's tapeworm, so I got to take patches poop home with me, nice huh. Sorry Micayla, I had your car. I didn't trust patches in my car with the leather seats. I was afraid she would poke a hole or something, so off I went, called the vet to see what they can give me, but first I had to stop at the Chiropractor for my month visit. Patches stayed in the car and waited for me. She was so good, one of the kids in the waiting room wanted to go out and play with her. So, I went up to the vet and got some medication for her to take, unfortunately they didn't look like treats so I had to bribe her to eat them with peanut butter, she love's PB. I got all 5 pills down now we just have to wait one month and take her back to make sure they are gone. How does a dog get worms, or anyone for the matter? I guess instead of blogging I should Google it. Oh maybe later. I was telling mom and she said "human's can get worms too" come on mom, I'm not checking my poop! LOL

We met at Applebee's about 6:00, there was about 11 of us, we all used to work in customer/technical service and everyone there was done working and most of us all got new and better jobs, but it's so fun talking about the good ole' days. I wish Tom would have been able to join us but he's on 2nd, but we already talked about doing this monthly since no one hardly see's anyone anymore, so next time he will be able to join us. We are planning on the 1st Wednesday of each month, at least that's the plan! I had a Chicken Fajita wrap, or something like that and it was very good. I was really hungry for fries and they satisfied my craving that's forsure. Applebee's was fined for serving under age people so they lost there liquor license for 30 days so we didn't get to have a drink, but that was alright, I was happy with water.

The kids just got home, Brandon was with his friend Tyler and Micayla was with her friend Rachel. Next Tuesday, Micayla will have her license! We finally picked out her senior pictures, now we are just waiting for her mom to pick out what she wants so we can put in one big order. They turned out so good, it was hard to pick out our favorites.

Last night I went to yoga and Kristi came with me. I slept so good, I didn't even hear Tom come home last night. He said I mumbled something but that was it. Yoga relaxes me so much, I love it.

Well, I've got to get up for Jazzercise in the morning.

Decorations are out

It's been a while since I've blogged probably because there is just not much happening lately. The weather is starting to get cold, today, Sunday, was rainy and we had to shut the windows it was so cold in our house and I hate thinking that winter is just around the corner so yesterday, I cleaned the house and decided to get all my Halloween decorations out and decorated my house. I love to decorate but I think I'm a little too early, it's not even October yet, but oh well, everything is up! I guess I should take some pictures but not today, I'm too lazy!

Friday night, Tom and I went out for supper, Red Robin, and then did some shopping. We came home and had a fire in our back yard. It was a beautiful night and super relaxing. I was beat! I taught 4 days of Jazzercise this past week, Tuesday morning, Wednesday afternoon and Thursday and Friday morning. I only taught Friday because one of the girls was sick and I got asked, I really didn't want to, but I gave in and said what the heck. The good news is we now have 2 more jazzercise instructors who went through workshop this weekend so they will be starting on there own in the next couple of weeks. Oh and one of the girls will be doing the early morning classes so I will only have to do one instead of 3. Three was just too many, I will be doing 2 at 4:30 which I seem to have much more energy at that time of day.

Saturday, Tom and I slept in and if felt great. That night Tom and I went to pizzaria Uno's in Platteville, we had pizza, one half was a seafood pizza and the other was called swisseroo. I can't remember forsure what was on it, but I know there was swiss cheese and I thought it was canadian bacon but Tom said it was pepperoni, but I don't quit remember. Needless to say I had a few drinks and they weren't virgin drinks. I was pretty bummed Saturday, I found out I wasn't pregnant but we will just have to try, try again. I know one of these days its going to happen and as Tom says I just need to stop thinking about it, but how can I, it's always on my mind.

Sunday afternoon mom and grandma came out to the house to see my Halloween decorations. They stayed for about an hour and as always, its great to see them. Tom and I put a roast in the crockpot with potatoes and carrots and had Tom's parents out for supper. Micayla finally took the time to pick out her senior pictures, I think she picked out her favorite and Linda and I did as well, so now we just have to order them. They turned out really good.

Tom's on 2nd shift all this week, someone wanted trade with him so he agreed, it will probably be a long week for the kids and I but I'm sure we will keep ourselves busy.

Yoga class

I just have to tell everyone about my Yoga experience tonight! The Jazzercise center is now offering yoga and as an instructor I get to go for FREE! So tonight was the first night and I didn't know how I would like it, but I have to admit, I loved it. I feel so refreshed and my muscles are all relaxed and stretched. I have not stretched that much in a long time.

I had to teach Jazzercise tonight at 4:30 and once I got home, Tom had dinner all made, Hamburger Helper and crescent rolls, delicious honey. After supper we decided to make some muffins for the kids for breakfast and Tom found a huge zucchini in our garden so he made some zucchini bread. Unfortunately, I had to leave once I put the muffins in the oven, but I knew he could handle it. Thanks honey! The bread is awesome, tomorrow morning I will try the muffins.

Labor Day Weekend

Well first things first, I had my IUI - Interuterine Insemination, so now I have to wait 2 weeks to see if everything worked. It was really painless. My mom called and asked if I wanted her to come along, I told her it was really no big deal, but she wanted to be there so I told her it was fine. It was nice having someone to talk to because it was kind of boring, once the Dr. came in to do her thing, I had to lay there for 25 minutes with my hip elevated. My doc said everything looked good, meaning Tom's sperm, and I was a little dilated she said which is a good thing so I'm crossing my fingers and toes that everything took. I made an agreement with myself that once I had an IUI, I'm going to "try" and stop drinking. So this weekend was a true test, but I did it and I'm so proud of myself and if everything turns out the way we hope, then my baby will thank me as well.

We had a great weekend camping, Friday night was pretty could, though, but we got through it. I was supposed to get out at work at 3:00 but unfortunately there was a little mess at work and me and my manager had to stay a little longer, 4:10, to get everything done for the long weekend. Tom was down setting things up so it really wasn't that big of a deal. I got down to the campgrounds about 5:15 or so and Tom had chicken legs on the grill. Tom's parents and grandparents all came down for supper. Friday night was a pretty cool day/night. I think it only got high of 70 maybe and it was windy. Saturday night we cooked a tenderloin on the grill and again Tom's parents and Grandparents all came down for supper, plus Tom's Aunts and Uncles too. Thanks to Tom's parents for supplying all the food, they are the best! Sunday we went to Tom's uncle for a little cookout, we didn't stay long but enough to enjoy the company and watch Patches and Benjamin, Tommy's uncles St. Bernard dog, that thing is huge and Patches was so worn out by the time we left he hardly moved once we got back to the campgrounds. Today we cleaned up pretty early because I wanted to get home and do some cleaning around the house. So we made breakfast cleaned up and headed home. We got home about 11:30.

Micayla got her Senior pictures tonight and wow, they turned out awesome and their are so many of them, it's going to be hard to pick them out. Brandon got all bruised up this weekend, he was hanging out at the skate park with his buddies. His knees are all cut up, just like a typical boy, but he stayed busy all weekend, the skate park was by where we were camping and he had a friend staying with us this weekend.

We ordered Happy Joe's pizza tonight, I was craving nacho joe pizza and BLT! Did a little Jazzercise for tomorrow and now I'm about ready for bed. Thank God for a short week, next weekend we are off to Great America with Chris and Kristi! Should be fun.
