Beautiful night

Tonight was a gorgeous night - we finally got to turn the air off yesterday, Sunday. It's been about 2 months since we got a chance to turn it off. I did turn it off however the weekend before since we were camping, but when we came home Sunday night, holy cow, it was hot in the house, so on it went again and now finally we have a break in the humidity.

Once I got home from work, and let me tell you, its been CRAZY, we have been taking over 650 phones calls between 11 of us, so tonight I got home and Tom and I cooked stuffed chicken breast, twice baked potatoes and sweet corn. We topped it off with a glass of Bogle wine. After that, we decided to take a walk and enjoy the outdoors. So since we had mom and dad's computer, to fix, we decided to take it back. It all has something to do with their internet. Dad says it's because of Mozilla Firefox, he cracks us up. All he says if AOL would never do this as dad has no idea the difference, but we just shake our head at him and tell him AOL is no good and it has nothing to do with that. Anyway, mom and dad were having a few of the neighbors over for hamburgers. They had a few hor de vours set out so Tom and I had a few snacks and left. We ended up parking our car at the Ham House at the end of Shiras and walked up the new trail. It was so nice, we didn't realize it was all up hill until we got to the top of the park, but we did it. Our glutes are going to burn tonight and tomorrow but it's all worth it. So once we made it to the top we walked along the fence line overlooking the Mighty Mississippi, I wish I would have had my phone on me because I would have posted a beautiful picture, maybe next time. But we walk the "mile" walk. The "mile" walk I remember in grade school, we had to come up to Eagle Point Park to do our mile run and we always tried to cheat but it never worked. So we had about a 2 mile walk and it felt great.

We had a wonderful weekend, Friday night it was a rainy one so we stayed home, other than grocery shopping, but we stayed home and watched a movie, Marley and Me. Boy did I ever tear up. Saturday we went out on the river with Chris, Kristi, Jenni and Jason. It looked like it might rain, but it never did, it ended up being a wonderful day. We got in about 10:00 after trying for about 45 minutes trying to get the boat on the trailer. Long story but we got it and headed home. We were shot! Sunday was the Hendricks picnic up at East Dubuque park, most of the cousins were there, it was so nice to see everyone. It was another beautiful day, the kids got to swim in the pool and some of them played baseball, it was just a nice day.
