THE HILLEBRAND'S: American Lady Cruise/Weekend recap

Thursday night a bunch of girls and a couple husbands went on the American Lady cruise. We planned this about a month ago, because we all knew it was going to get crazy at work and we would need a break. So we chose Thursday to spend it on the Mississippi. I have pictures on my phone, but I haven't figured out how to put them on here from my phone. So I guess you just have to picture it yourself. It was a hot night, not much wind blowing, but the scenery was beautiful. We went up the river by the lock and dam then back down the river almost to 9 mile, but not quite that far. The cruise has a dinner theme every night, Thursday was dip night, so we had chips and dip, salsa and hamburger and cheese dip, not sure what that's called but it was all pretty good. The cruise was an hour and a half, when we boarded the boat, there was someone there handing us beer, it was perfect, all the beer you could drink and food for $15 not too bad. After the boat ride, it was about 7:30 and a few of us weren't ready to go home, so we decided to head to Tomy Roma's to sit outside on the patio. They had live music and $2 beers what more could you ask for. It turned out to be a gorgeous night. We ran into mom and dad and they had already reserved an outside table so when that became available we all gathered around. We danced and laughed and had a great time. The only thing that sucked was Tom had to go to work that night, so he we drinking pop, but I think he enjoyed himself. Mom and dad were a hoot. LOL

That was all just the start of our weekend, Friday night, Tom and I planned on staying home and making salsa, well we needed some jars and dad told us to come up and get some, he had some we could have, so we drove up to mom and dad's. Dad was gone for the weekend to Des Moines for some Moose thing, so it was just mom all by herself. So when we got up there, she asked if we wanted to go out for supper, she'll buy, so off we went to the Clubhouse. I think they have the best sirloins, it just melted in my mouth, along with the hashbrowns and salad bar. Thanks Mom! We took her home and headed to Hy-Vee to get the few things we needed for the salsa, but decided not to make it until Saturday. We watched a couple of movies and hit the sack around midnight. Tom couldn't sleep because he was still in bed at 4:15 when I got home from work! I couldn't believe it, so I knew he wasn't going to be able to sleep. But anyway, we finally got to sleep and Saturday morning, we woke up because of a visitor, mom and Grandma, they were kind of passing by they were going to a flower shop out past our house and they wanted to see if I wanted to go out, but I decided I better not because I would probably buy stuff that I don't need. So Tom and I started making salsa, it was a long process, but so worth it! It turned out awesome. That night, we got invited to Chris and Kristi's for supper, mom and grandma came also. Chris and Kristi made 2 whole beef tenderloins and OMG it was to die for. Plus her famous hashbrowns made the meal excellent. Tom and I polished off 2 bottles of Bogle wine, Petite Shirah, my favorite, and Ghost Du Blanc, that one was pretty good too. Kristi and I ran up to moms house to get Abbey and her webcam, she decided to stay with Grandma since Dad was still gone but she didn't bring Abbey with her so Kristi and I volunteered to drive up and get her. It was early enough in the night plus we wanted to talk to Luke on his birthday. We really wanted to see Leah too. We were so amazed at how good she can talk. She can say my name perfectly, I can't believe it. And she knows everyone! It's amazing.

So tonight, Sunday, we were invited up to mom and dad's for BBQ chicken and sweetcorn. I think I had enough food this weekend, everything was so good and I love being around family. We got home about 7:00 and I went downstairs to learn a new Jazzercise song, so I better get listening to it before I forget it. I'm going to try and email my pictures to myself from my phone so I can get some pictures up, because I'm sure reading this boring. Oh well... Oh and one other thing, I got my period :( so the next step, hopefully we can do the IUI in the next week. I'm ready to try it and hope it to work. So for now, good night.
