5th weekend of camping

It seems like forever since I have blogged and I'm sure whoever reads this is thinking the same thing. Because I know I check my sister-in-law's blog about every day and when I don't see a new post I turn up my nose.. Just kidding Steph! But I do love updates especially pictures of my beautiful niece.

So this past weekend was our 5th and final weekend camping at Whitetail. The kids with us and so did my nephew, Jacob. He seemed to have a great time. Saturday, him and I played bean bags all afternoon, until Tom woke up anyways, for some reason he was so tired so I just told him to sleep. I think 3rd shift is finally catching up with him. So Jake and I played bags, cards, went for a walk and just hung out. Brandon was running around with a friend and Jake was just content hanging out with his aunt. He's such a sweetie. Once Tom woke up we all went up to the pool. It was nice and refreshing. Our friend Ellen and her sister, Laura, were up at the pool and was sat and talked to them most of the afternoon. Once we got done, we went to cook supper, BLT's and sweetcorn again. It's the best summer meal! Well once supper was done, the beers sure hit me hard so I went to lay down and ended up sleeping for I think 2 hours. It was dark when I got woken up.. Ellen and Laura came over and we sat outside for about an hour just catching up on old times. Then Sunday morning came and it was raining and raining hard until about 10:30 or so and once the rain quit we decided to pack up and head home. It ended up getting really hot!

Sunday night we got to skype with Leah, it was awesome, she had her birthday party that afternoon, so once she woke up from her nap, we got to talk to her and watch her open her birthday presents that we sent her. She was so funny. Every time she opened something she would love "I luv it" and scream. I swear it was priceless. It was like we were right there, she sat right in front of the computer and just opened the few things I had wrapped and put in her new bag. I hear she loves it! I just wish we were really there, but we take what we can get.

So this week at work has been hell. We are taking over 500 phones calls between 11 of us and its one professor after another. The time has been flying by though so that's a good thing but I'm ready for August to be over with. Once August is over with I might try and look for a different job with in McGraw-Hill, there's one job that I'm eying right now but I have to get through August before I can even think about applying for a job. Anyway, another good thing that going on right now at work is we are doing a weight loss challenge called "Choose to Lose" it's company wide, DBQ offices only, but you pay $15 and it goes on for 15 weeks and the highest percentage lost wins like $400 and the 2nd and 3rd place would get like $240 each so it definitely a motivator so I'm hoping it helps me and Tom get some pounds off. We have been trying to walk at night, but it's been so darn hot here lately. The heat index has been around 100 degrees. We are ready for a break and I know our air conditioner is as well.

The kids are all registered for school, Micayla is going to be a senior at Senior. I am working on getting her senior pictures taken with our photographer from our wedding so hopefully next week. She's getting ready to drive. We have been driving with her and she seems to be doing a great job. She's very cautious which is good. The only thing she ask when she's driving is "what way do I go" we tell her, Micayla you have to know where you're going! It's funny. But I think she get's it around the 15 of September.

Brandon got registered today for 8th grade at Washington. I think they are both ready to get back in school. I know we are too, but I'm not looking forward to the arguing about homework and missing assignment and so on and so on..

Oh another exciting thing, Jazzercise is going to be offering Yoga. We have 3 yoga instructors who are going to use our facility to host yoga classes. I can't wait! One perk for being an instructor is we don't have to pay, it's free! Now you don't hear that too often do you? So not next week, but the following week, starting on the 24th they are offering 3 free classes, one on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. So I'm anxious to try it. I've heard different opinions about yoga, some love it and others say they just can't get relaxed or there is just too much on there mind. Well, I can't wait.

So it's already Thursday night and I am truly ready for the weekend. I think we are going on the boat Saturday with Chris and Kristi and possibly a corn boil, but we don't know if we will make that. One of the Jazzercise instructors have a corn field and they have a corn boil once a year. Last year we didn't get to make up and I'm not sure if we will this year either, but we might try. Tom just said if we get out on the river, we probably wont make it to the corn boil. Oh well maybe next year. Then Sunday we have the Hendricks get together up at East Dubuque park. It will be nice to see everyone since we don't see each other as much since Grandpa died. We miss him so much!

Oh and I got a new cell phone FINALLY, no more razor. We got blackberry's and we love it.
