See mom hanging on for dear life? Yeah, she's sitting in the back of the golf cart, her butt was getting pretty hot and it was super dusty! But we had a blast. After dinner we cruised around the lake and checked out the area. Tom called and said he's be done around 10:00 so I loaded Cooper up and took off around 9:30. He was exhausted and slept all the way home and didn't even wake up when I put him in bed.
Saturday morning we decided to stay home from camping and enjoy the day in Dubuque. We went down to Tom's Grandparents house and sat outside, enjoying the weather. Tom's Grandma came out with an ice cream cone for Cooper. It was his first ice cream cone!
He wasn't quite sure what to think of it, but he ate it ALL! With a little help from daddy, although Cooper ate most of it and was quite ticked off when it was all gone.
After visiting with them, we headed home to get ready for the pool. We thought about going on the river but decided to just stay at the pool. Again Cooper had a blast, this kid loves to swim! We even put a life jacket on him this time and once he figured it out, with help of course, he loved it.
After swimming, we were on our way home and got to thinking, it's Saturday night, what are we going to do?? The last thing we wanted to do was go sit at home, so we thought of a few things but nothing really sounded excited, so we ended up driving back to Leisure Lake and surprised mom and dad! Justin and Matt were down visiting too. It was a beautiful night, we ate pizza at the Inn and headed back home around 10:00. Cooper got another ice cream cone, this time from Grandma. It was a Schwan's drumstick, my favorite and I think Cooper's too. He loved the end of the cone, that's where all the chocolate is!
Sunday, we slept in! It felt great...I love these days and when we woke up we were like "OK, we're going to get some work done around the house" well, maybe Tom wasn't like that, but I was and he was OK with it. So, I've been wanting to clean our windows and screens so we did that, Brandon mowed and trimmed the lawn, Micayla cleaned her room and then she was out cleaning her car out, so we washed everyone's car. We even got the sprinkler out for Cooper. He didn't quite know what to think. I put just a swim diaper on him, I got one from Target, one where you can reuse, they are awesome and he was soaked from head to toe. He loved it, especially when the water would come back and hit him in the face, he just laughed. It was so funny!
Washing the cars!
It was a perfect day! We got lots of stuff done and we even had time to invite our parents out for supper. We cooked steaks and twice baked potatoes and Broccoli. It was delicious.
And one last picture of my cutie pie!
