Wednesday, July 3rd we celebrate the 4th of July up at mom and dad's. They cooked us a wonderful meal. Steak, shrimp kabobs, twice baked potatoes and bread. Everything was so yummy. Tom helped dad with the grilling and I helped keep Cooper out of everyone's way!
After we are all done eating and cleaned up, we hung out for a little bit, it was a beautiful night, then we headed down to watch the fireworks. Like last year, we parked down near the park and had dad come pick us up, then mom took us down when we were ready. It worked out great!
Cooper all ready in his stroller, snacks and all!
After about an hour ride in the stroller while we visited with friends and family, Cooper was pooped. Poor kid did not get to see one stinkin' firework! We were really close too and it didn't even bother him, he slept through the whole show!
As always, the Dubuque fireworks were amazing, they put on a heck of a show and as you can see we had a great view. After the fireworks we walked back to our car and headed back to mom and dad's while we waited for the traffic to calm down. It gets very congested, however we didn't wait long enough because it took us about 40 minutes to get home, whereas it's normally a 12 minute ride. Oh well, we left mom and dad's because we were tired and we had to get some rest for our trip to Chicago the next day.
