Christmas 2012 - Part 1

Saturday, December 22nd, we celebrated Christmas at Tom and Linda's, we usually get this out of the way early so we don't have to bother with it on Christmas Day. LOL

Cooper, of course, was spoiled as were all of us by Tom and Linda. We dropped Cooper off early so Tom and I could finish up our shopping. When we got back, around 4:30, we ordered chicken from KFC. After we were all cleaned up, we started opening presents.

Cooper got his first baseball bat.

His first laptop! He loves to close the lid when we open it, it's so funny.

Some building blocks!

Not sure what they are discussing but I think Linda is opening Micayla's present. She got her Grandma a new 31 bag that she wanted. We got to use it to haul our stuff home.

Micayla opening her presens that she's been waiting for forever, a new IPad stand, but come to find out, it didn't fit her new IPad because she upgraded when she went to get her old on fixed, they gave her a new one and now the stand that Linda bought did not fit because of the new power cord or something. She was SO bummed.

Cooper playing with his new Bears football. He loves to eat it. See the luggage there?? That's what Tom and I got! We need it!

Cooper getting Grandpa

Cooper helping Brandon open his presents.

We had a great night, I also got a pair boots, a 31 bag and a few other things. One I will take a picture of, it's a shadow box of Cooper's baby items that I wanted to keep and Linda arranged it in a shadow box.

A White Christmas

I was beginning to wonder if we were going to have a white Christmas. I was sure hoping to have one, but last year, I don't think we did. This year, we were hit! It snowed from Wednesday night and all day Thursday. It finally stopped around 8:00 Thursday night. It was so pretty. Cooper and I got to stay home and work, it was so nice.

I did get a few pictures:

This is looking out our back patio door. I think we got a total of 14" of snow!

Cooper wants to play!

This one cracks me up. Look at Tom and Cooper just looking out the window. I really wanted to get him bundled up and out to play in the snow, but momma didn't want to get bundled up because it was cold!

My sweetie in his Christmas PJ's, don't you love the little Santa butt? Cooper loves looking at the lights outside on the house, we have icicle lights and you can see them from the window.

We put a Santa hat on him, this boy does not want anything on his head lately, but I got a few god snaps of the camera before he tore it off. He was so excited for Christmas!

Christmas Card 2012

I've been looking forward to sending out Christmas cards for quite some time. I've always loved getting Christmas cards with pictures and seeing how everyone grows year after year and now this year I have my own baby to put on a Christmas card and I'm so happy to share it with you all.

I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

9 Month Well Visit

Today was Cooper's 9 month well visit with Dr. Adkins! I heard there were no shots so I was excited to get to hang with my little boy for the afternoon.

Cooper's stats are as follows:

Weight: 18 lbs 1oz (15%)
Height: 27 1/4 (10%)

He also had his hemoglobin checked and it came back A-OK!

Dr. Adkins didn't seem to concerned with the low percentile so I'm not too concerned either. I was expecting him to be heavier but I'm fine with him staying little, for now. She couldn't believe he doesn't have teeth but thought they would be here any day because he has the rash and has had loose stools so I'm sure one of these days we'll see a tooth.

The next appointment is his one year check-up, holy cow. After the visit, Cooper and I hit a couple stores then came home for the night to settle in the for big snow storm. That's right, we 're expecting 12+ inches of snow. I can't wait to see what Cooper does when he sits in it. I know what he'll do, eat it! So stay tuned for pictures of that!!

Nine Months Old!

How has 9 months gone by already?? I swear this has been the best 9 months of my life. Cooper has lights up my life every day!

A few things I want to remember about Cooper's 9 months of life are:
  • You are still wearing size 3 Pampers. We moved you to the cruisers and you seem to like them.
  • You are still wearing size 9 to 12 month clothes. We are no longer buying you 9 month! You're slowly growing into your 12 month, holy cow!
  • You love to eat! We haven't found anything that you haven't liked. We love that! We are feeding you 3 times a day plus you are still breastfeeding.
  • That's right, still no formula. I am starting to struggle with this but I'm still hanging in there.
  • Still no teeth! I know they are coming, we keep checking every day. You have some rosy cheeks lately so I know they'll be here soon.
  • You are a crawling machine. The big question around the house is "where's Cooper?" He is exploring the entire house.
  • You pull yourself up onto everything! Even though we have the house child proof, you still seem to find things you shouldn't get in to, such as cords. You love pulling on cords!

  • You love your baths. I can't wait for Christmas, I think Santa is bringing you something to play with in the bath tub. You don't mind water on your face at all. You like to watch the water fall off your face, it's so funny.
  • You've moved up into the transitional room at Daycare. Everyone just loves you and you don't seem to mind one bit. With you moving up, you seem to be catching on to things a lot quicker.
  • You are talking so much now. You are finally saying mama, we are working on dada and KK. You say baba all the time, we are thinking that's Brandon. LOL at least that's what he says. He just loves to mumble and talk all to himself.
  • You hate getting your diaper changed. This is such a challenge every day, even changing your cloths, this has to be done on the floor once I get your diaper on. You just roll over and buck at me. You have to have something to occupy yourself, then it's a little bit easier.
  • You still have crazy hair! It's always flying away. The back drives me nuts but you don't seem to mind. You love when I comb your hair, it instantly calms you and you just sit still until I'm done.

  • You are always so happy! When I take pictures or talk about you being crabby, they can't believe it because you hardly ever fuss.
  • You still like to be rocked to sleep. I need to start breaking this habit, but I just love watching you sleep.
  • You've been sleeping all through the night, sometimes I wake up just looking to see the time because I usually know you're going to wake up, but lately you just sleep all night long. You will fuss a couple of times but I've let you fuss it out, you don't get up or anything so it's all good. You just lay your head down and go back to sleep. Momma loves this!
  • You still go crazy when you see your brother and sister. They walk in and your face lights up instantly. I just adore this because I know you are so spoiled by them.
  • You are getting excited for Christmas, I can just tell! You love playing with bows and I know you're going to love ripping off the wrapping player to see what you got for Christmas.

Cooper there is never a dull moment in this household, you definitely keep us on our toes and we love everything about you. You are so funny and make some crazy faces and sounds. Everyday it seems to be something different. You just light up our life!

I had to take a few pictures in your new shirt and hat. Thanks to Aunt Steph and Uncle Hendu! They sure spoil you!

My little reindeer!

Pictures are harder and harder to get. You just don't want to sit still for momma. So we get what we can so don't mind the blurry ones! LOL

Tomorrow is your 9 month check up so I'll post his stats then.

Cooper's buddies!

Saturday morning, around 10am, we welcomed to our house all of Cooper's buddies. These are people we've met while I was on maternity leave. Every Tuesday, the Finley Hospital offered a breastfeeding support group and we looked forward to seeing all these babies and each other. Who would have thought we'd all stay connected and all get together and become friends. All the babies were within a couple of months in age.

From left (oldest) to right (youngest): Elliot, Oliver, David (he's sleeping) Cooper, Charles and Greenlee (the only girl) they are all so darn cute and I think this was the hardest picture we had to take. All the babies are on the move!

Elliot's trying to get away.

Greenlee and Charles are getting pretty close!

It was a perfect day. We made some sandwiches had chips and dip, a veggie tray and the others each brought a little something. It was great getting everyone together. The last time we all got together, I was out of town, so the was Cooper's first time. He had a blast sharing all of his toys, he really didn't know what to think. He's going to have lots of buddies growing up. I think this is something we'll keep doing for quite a while.

And just a few random pictures of the gang.

I loved having all these babies in the house and I can't wait to see them all again. Next time, they'll all be walking!

While mommy shops...

The boys will play!

Last week, or maybe two weeks ago, I know I'm so far behind. It's been a challenge to make time to blog, but here I am catching up. So a couple of weeks ago we were out shopping in the mall and I love to stop at BabyGap, I can usually find stuff on clearance. So while I was shopping, Tom took Cooper and off they went. The Gap has a little table in the store for kiddos like Cooper to sit at. I turn around to look for them and here they are at the table coloring, it was the sweetest site!

Tom took Cooper around the store and was trying on different hats, isn't it so cute?? I kind of wish I would have bought it.

John Deere Christmas Party

Saturday night, Tom and I got all decked out and went to the John Deere Christmas Party. We lined up a babysitter, Chris, Kristi and the boys, a while back. It wasn't hard to find one as they jumped on the opportunity when I told them about the party. So it was all planned and it worked out perfectly. Kristi called me earlier that day and asked if it'd be OK if they came to pick up Cooper early and go to her parents. Chris and a few of the boys were hunting at Kristi's parent's so it worked out perfectly. Kristi, Justin, Cole and Alec all came to get Cooper. He was excited to get to hang with them for a while.

Tom and I made a quick stop to Target before heading to The Julien. The party started at 6:00. We got there and hung out with a couple people that we know. They had heavy hor devours (not sure how to spell that) but they had lots of food. Good ole' finger food! There were a lot of people and not a lot of tables, so by the time we left, my feet were killing me. We ended up leaving around 8:30. We got a few video's from Chris and Cooper seemed to be having a blast. I sure wish I could share the video, it's so darn cute, but not sure how to do that from a text message. Since he was in such good hands we decided to head over to the casino. We walked away with $10 ahead so I'd say it was a good trip! After the casino we stopped at Hammerhead's where Johhny Trash was playing and it was free cover charge so we thought what the heck, it's early. We both said to each other, "we'd be home in our jammies" this was about 7:00 when we said that. But it was nice going out and enjoying each other. We don't do it often enough and I know we should but I'm just content with staying home especially since it's getting much colder.

The night was great. We picked up Cooper around 11:30 and he slept the whole ride home, put him to bed and he was up at 5:30 and didn't want to go back to bed, so needless to say, I was tired on Sunday.

Here is the only picture I got of the night. Oops!
