Almost packed and ready for Cali

I'm just about all packed, I had to rearrange a few things since mom came over last night with a bag full of goodies for Luke, Steph and Leah. I have the big suitcase packed, I just have a few last minute things to pack before I zip it up. I can't believe I leave in 2 days! As you can see on my countdown, huh?

We got out of work early today at 1:30, it was awesome, they finally told us at 1:20 so we quickly shut down our computers and finished up whatever it was we were working on headed out. This is one bonus we get for working at McGraw-Hill...we get out early, most of the time, the day before a holiday. It was very slow and it would have been a very long afternoon. So after work I went to Kohl's, I had $40 in Kohl's cash and of course, it expired today so I had to use it. I ended up buying a new sports bra, go figure huh? I looked at a few things but I never have luck finding anything I like, so I stuck with something I new I needed and used frequently. After that I went to get a pedicure. I was long overdue and my husband's mad at me for not coming home to get him to go with. This was I will have an excuse to get another one maybe next month so he can get one too. He had just gotten up about 1:30 when I called him to tell him we were getting out early. He still had to make his pumpkin pies so I figured he wouldn't want to go, boy was I wrong! LOL sorry sweetie, next time. So once I got home Tom's parents were here just finishing up the ham they made for turkey day. There kitchen is getting remodeled so they don't have an oven yet, so we offered ours to them. The ham was so good, I got a couple slices before they left.

We got invited to go to comedy night with a few of Tom's aunts and uncles, but we decided to stay in. It was raining out and it was cold. Plus the cops would be out and I just didn't want to take the chance since today is one of the biggest nights to go out. So we stayed in and ordered House of China for dinner and they deliver which made it that much better we didn't have to go out, however we ended up going out to the mall once Micayla got home because she's been after a new cell phone which she thought she could but ended up she can't until Dec. 7th or so. We could have paid $60 to fulfill the rest of the contract or wait a little over a week. We finally talked her into waiting, she really wanted one NOW but come on... I really wanted to go to the mall, since I forgot to while I was out after work, to get my ring cleaned, it needed it bad. I also got to look at a new watch, that's what I asked for for Christmas, and I found a really nice one. So I gave him an idea, now I just have to think of something to buy him! Any ideas????

We're trying to find a good movie on TV but we're not having much luck. So when nothing's on we end up watching the Food Network and right now Diner's Drive-in's and Dives is on. Tom loves this show!

I'm downloading a couple of movies I rented from ITunes to download it onto my IPod for my trip. I rented a couple of "chick" flicks, "Remember Me" Edward from Twilight is in it, can't remember his name. I also rented "The Last Song" with Miley Cyrus, Micayla said it was really good, I just hope I can hear them while I'm on the plane, last time I did this I couldn't hear it very good because I was sitting near the engine the wing of the plane where it's the loudest. I called ITunes and they reimbursed me for the movie so it worked out OK. Since I rented the movie, I have 30 days to play them and once you start the movie I have 24 hours to watch it, so I plan on watching one on the way out to Cali and one on the way back.

Well, Tom's snoring on the couch so I think I'm going to catch up on General Hospital!

Have a great Thanksgiving everyone!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas

That's right, all Christmas decor is up. Brandon asked this afternoon if we could put up the Christmas tree and I was like "sure" that's what I needed someone asking me to put it up. I was going to wait until after I got back from Cali, but since he asked and was going to help I was all for it. So down stairs we went to get the tree and put it up. Brandon put all the lights and ornaments on it as well. It was so fun, he did such a good time. After we got the tree up, he wanted to wrap some presents so he wrapped a few and put them under the tree. He's would have like to wrap his own, but sorry Brandon..you're going to have to wait.

Friday night Tom and I met Chris and Kristi at Houlihan's for a couple of Long Island Ice Tea's it was happy hour until 5:30 we we headed down about 4:30. We had some chicken nachos and calamari for dinner. My stomach started doing it's crazy pains, so we just went home, which is a good thing, it was nice to be home relaxing by 7:00. I tried staying awake to watch a movie, Avatar, but that didn't happen. I was so tired, it was a very long week at work.

Saturday was a good day, we got all the outdoor Christmas lights hung and ready to shine. They're actually on now, I know we should wait at least until after Thanksgiving but they are so pretty. Saturday night we made homemade loaded potato soup, its a Houlihan's recipe that a friend of mine found online and it was just as good. We made a double batch so we have extra. We sent a bowl home for Tom and Linda, hopefully they'll like it. I have one for my parents as well. After all the decorating was done, I decided to start my packing! I brought up my suitcase and started laying a few things out. I wrapped a couple of presents so I'm just about ready for my trip. I can't believe I leave on Friday already.

Well, Brandon asked to order a pizza so I did, Papa John's online, and I think the pizza is here.

New blog page

I'm just so excited about my new blog page I can't help but blog!

Today was a good day at work, nothing out of the ordinary other than a couple department meetings. I went to lunch with my friend Jenny Harrington, she works at MGH too, she's been there for over 10 years I think, but we went to Crust, it's a new restaurant in the former Bricktown restaurant, it was pretty good, the best thing about the meal was the appetizer they give you, they're bite size bread bites soaked in garlic and drizzled with Parmesan cheese and marinara sauce for dipping, they were super good and it was included with the meal. I ended up ordering a chicken and bacon wrap and Jenny had a french dip, she said it was OK and mine was OK, but the homemade chips that came with it were awesome especially dipped in ranch! The parking is not the best but what do you do? Tom's mad I went to a new restaurant with out him, but I'm sure dinner is so much different.

After work I taught Jazzercise, I put in 2 new songs and I think everyone liked them. I know my mom is going to love the one song, she's been after me to put it in my set. I finally got the video to watch so I learned it last night. So Monday Mom will get to Jazzercise to Mercy by Duffy. That's her favorite song.

After Jazzercise I met Tom and his parents, his Grandpa, Sandy and Boner at Buffalo Wild Wings, they had everything ordered before I got there when I got there I was ready to eat. I'm always starving after Jazzercise and BWW is always so good, I love there Honey BBQ, french fries and onion rings, everything that's NOT good for me.

On my way home I stopped at the Shoe Shack to get some new insoles for my Jazzercise shoes and since they were having a big sale I decided to stop out. They were packed but I got 25% off my purchase so it was well worth it. The only is they didn't have the ones I use so they had to order them but that's OK, I don't need them right now.

So now I'm home watching the Bear's game, the dishes are done and the kitchen is clean and it feels so good to be relaxing. It seems like I've been running all weekend. I'm so glad tomorrow is Friday. I can't wait for the weekend to start putting up our Christmas decorations.

The Countdown begins

Thanks to my wonderful, creative husband, my blog is now counting down the days and seconds until I leave for California! He's so awesome.

I don't have much to blog about but my day was kind of hectic. It started out as any normal day does, I knew when I got to work I had a project to do for our department meeting tomorrow so I got that all done and all was fine, until I sent it on to my boss, not my boss in DBQ, but the BOSS in Chicago! Of course she came back with things she had questions on and so on and so on, so I spent the rest of the afternoon working on that plus we had to to have a conference call with her, exhausting, but she's an awesome manager and gets the job done. Anyway my day was pretty good.

After work I went to take my winter coat to get the zipper fixed, I figured I better do it now instead of waiting until I really need it, so a girl at work told me about this place just down the street from work, Jan's or Sue's sewtique, I can't remember her name now, LOL anyway I was thinking I was just going to drop it off and she's like "let me take a look at it" and sure enough, she fixed it on the spot! All she asked for was $3 - here you go, thanks! I was shocked, I was planning on taking it up the Fashion Touch Drycleaners, they would have had my coat for a week and it would have cost $5! So now I know where to go next time.

I had volleyball tonight at 9:00 so that's why I'm up this late blogging, plus I wanted to show everyone my new page with the Disney countdown. Since I usually can't fall asleep right after exercising I thought I would say hi to everyone. Brandon came along with me to volleyball, I'm not really sure why because there's nothing to do out there, but he did and he sat there and watched me. He's such a sweetie!

Well, I better go get ready for bed, it's way past my bedtime!

Lele, Yoga and dinner

Dancing With The Stars was very disappointing tonight, Tom's in an uproar because he thinks it's rigged and that it's not a dancing competition anymore, it's just about popularity. Anyway, I'm kind of bummed that Brandy got kicked off, but since I didn't vote, I guess I can't talk.

I just got done Skyping with Leah Luke and Steph, I love technology, it's amazing that I can sit her in my living room and talk to my niece all the way in California. She showed me the tickets to Disneyland and she's super excited to see Mickey and Minnie mouse, as I am too! She's getting so big and when she said bye Rachael and Tommy as clear as day, it brought a tear to my eye, she's getting so big way too fast.

Tonight I had to teach Jazzercise at 4:30, let me tell you, I sure seem to have so much more energy at 4:30 than I do at 5:45am and I used to be so good at that time and I absolutely love the people early in the morning they are all so different. After Jazzercise I went up to mom and dad's for supper, it was just mom and I and she made a rock cornish hen and it was delicious, it was done perfectly along with cauliflower and cheese. She also made an awesome salad with cranberry's and nuts. Thanks mom! After dinner I headed back down to the Jazzercise center for Yoga. I swear if anyone gets a chance to take a yoga class do it. It's absolutely amazing and so relaxing.

Tom went for dinner with his dad tonight they went down to the union hall for turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes and gravy, he said it was very good.

Last night we had Tom's parents up for supper since there kitchen is getting torn out and remodeled. They will be without a kitchen until after Thanksgiving so we had them up last night for spaghetti and meatballs with garlic bread. Tom made some homemade sauce back when we were doing some canning and it is awesome. Thursday night we are all going out to Buffalo Wild Wings, she won something this past weekend so she invited us out. I love that place, honey bbq is my favorite.

Well, Tom's about ready to take off, I can't believe it's already 10:00.. night.

Rough weekend

All I have to say is, I'm getting old!

Saturday morning I woke up to go to the big craft fair at the Grand River Center with Kristi, Mom, Grandma and Andy. Kristi picked me up about 9:30. The place was packed, it was $3 to get in the craft fair, but well worth it, there were alot of craft stands. I ended up with a couple things, a snowman lawn ornament. I will have to take a picture of it once we put it up, hopefully next weekend. The other thing I bought was a squirrel feeder, it's a wheel that you put corn on it so the squirrels stay away from our bird feeder. We hung this up yesterday but we haven't seen any squirrels on it yet. Hopefully I didn't waste my money, plus we have a HUGE bag of corn. The last thing I bought was a, this is going to be hard to explain, it looks like a potty chair, it has a 10" hole that you put a flower pot in, it will sit outside my front door come spring, but it was so cute. Again, I will have to take some pictures. It's been a crappy weekend, weather wise, it's been drizzling all weekend so it wasn't a good weekend to do any Christmas decorating outside, hopefully next weekend between my packing for my trip. I would like to get some things up before I go. That way when I get home we don't have everything to do..

So after the craft show, Kristi and I met Chris and the boys out at Jumpers to watch the Iowa game. Tom met us out there as well. Well, the beers were going down pretty good and it was just barely noon! Tom and I split some hot wings and let me tell you, they were HOT, my mouth was on fire for about an hour after eating them and I only ate 3 of them. Thanks honey. So we stayed and watched most of the game, I think, just kidding yes we watched it all, too bad they lost. So after Jumpers Tom and I went to Theisen's to get the corn for the squirrel feeder and headed home to let the dog out and take a break before heading to the moose for there 100th anniversary dinner. We headed up to mom and dad's about 4:00 and mom and dad were all ready to go, they were all decked out. Dad had a tie and his sport coat on and mom was all dressed up, they both looked so nice. We took a picture on their camera so I don't have any pics. But I think Tom did and posted a couple on facebook! I posted lots of stuff on FB last night, I think they should ban smartphones from drunk people. If you see all my post you will understand why I'm saying this. LOL

The prime rib dinner was delicious. After eating there was karaoke and of course since I've been drinking since 11:30 I was raring to sing, but I didn't, I didn't feel like making a fool out of myself, instead mom and I were up dancing. I think I should have sung..Tom took a picture and posted it on FB too. We both should be banned. Oh and I remember one of my post and Stephanie asked "where are you" or something like that and I just started cracking up I was laughing so hard. Anyway, after the moose, we headed down to Hammerhead's there was a benefit going on that I completely forgot about so it was crowded. Tom's mom and dad and aunt's and uncle's were all down there. It was just so much fun, the day was great and I was glad to be home. We called it a night, I think, about 11:00.

I was feeling it this morning, mom called me about 10:00 and I didn't want to get out of bed but I told her I would go with her out to Hallmark so she could show me this thing she wants to get Leah for Christmas, but she wants me to buy it when I'm out in CA. Of course, I bought something and again I'm going to take pictures and post it. It's a magnetic thing and you can buy different things for it. I bought it at Hallmark, but when we went to Honeker's after Hallmark, the stuff I bought at Hallmark were cheaper at Honekers'.. plus I had a coupon so I bought everything again and took the more expensive stuff back to Hallmark. They said, "weren't you just in here" yes I said and it's a long story, I was going to say something like my husband made me bring it back, but all it said was "it's a long story" LOL She said "that's all I need to know" it was quite funny, but they didn't say anything plus I saved $20! I thought it was worth it and I got a Christmas present for Micayla, I think she's going to love it.

Well Tom just left for work so that's my cue to hit the sack and watch the news. I have to get up early for Jazz tomorrow!

Christmas shopping started

Tonight, Tom and I started our Christmas shopping. I'm trying to get most of it done before I leave for California, because I know once I get back on the 4th, Christmas will be right around the corner and we will have to put up the tree and everything, unless we do it before I go. We actually thought about doing it tonight, but I think it's too early, maybe next weekend! Normally we would do it Thanksgiving weekend, but I'll be in CA. Maybe Tom and the kids can set it up! LOL

So we started our night off by taking Brandon to his cousin's house where he's spending the night, of course we didn't bring the bowling balls because that would have been too convenient, instead we had to come home and take them down to his Grandma and Grandpa's for Micayla to take with her tomorrow morning. She's going there after work since she can't drive past 10:00 at night. So after we dropped Brandon off we went to Kohl's, we had 30% off so we got lots of Christmas shopping done. Believe it or not, I don't think we bought anything for us. I'm so proud of myself, normally when I go out "Christmas" shopping I always find way too much that I want. But tonight it was all about the kids, we got Micayla and Brandon just about done and we got my mother-in-law done, but since I know she reads this I can't say. Sorry Linda, but I think you're going to like it! At least we hope.

After Kohl's we went to Old Navy where we had a 30% off as well, Friends and Family thing that I printed off the internet. We didn't find much, Tom got a couple of T-shirts and that's about it. I'm not too impressed with that store like I used to be. After that we walked through Bed Bath and Beyond and came out empty handed. I guess there was only one thing on our minds and that was Christmas shopping and since we didn't find anything we didn't buy.

Once we got done there, we headed for supper. We chose The Mining Company, it was so good, sorry Steph.. we started out with cheese balls, then I had a mushroom swiss burger and Tom had the International burger. All was great as always. We putzed through the mall and walked through the new Dick's store, again we didn't get anything, we walked through JcPenney's to look for something for Leah and I found the perfect outfit but they didn't have her size :( so now I'm off searching for it online.

Tomorrow morning, Kristi is picking me up at 9:30 to go to the big craft fair down at the Grand Harbor then to the Moose for prime rib!

Long overdue blog

That's right, it's been a while since I've blogged and I know you all already know that, but I have been lazy or just really nothing to blog about. So here goes...

Tonight was yoga night and it was so relaxing, we concentrated on our feet and ankles, we did a lot of standing poses and balancing poses. Whoever thought of yoga is awesome. I never thought in a million years I would enjoy lying there, breathing! But it's so relaxing and boy do I sleep better after I have done it. There are so many different poses that I don't know where to begin, but a few of my favorite are The Downward Dog, Warrior Poses and of course Child's Pose, just to name a few, but I think everyone should do it. I have tried to get Tom to go, but he just says no way! He needed it tonight because he was crabby! Sorry sweetie.

I'm trying to think of a few things that have been going on lately, but I'm coming up blank..

Tom's watching Friday the 13th and Jason is crazier than ever. Is is Jason or Michael, I can't remember, the dude with the hockey mask?? The more I'm thinking about it, it's Michael.

I'm starting to get ready for my trip out to California. A couple of weeks ago I put all my summer stuff away except for a few things that I will take with me. We're going to be in southern Cali, so it should be warm, at least capri's and sandal weather, so I have everything ready to go for that. I have been looking at our resort and everything there is to do at Disney and we are going to have a blast and I can't wait to hang out with Luke, Steph and Leah. Tom and I are deciding on when to leave for Madison, he's going to take me to the airport on Friday the day after Thanksgiving and then pick me up the following Saturday the 4th of December. This is the day of his work Christmas party so we aren't going to make it, sorry honey, but we will get to go next year. Unless I have someone else pick me up, we have a couple weeks to talk about it.

Well, I'm about ready for bed, I took some Nyquil, I feel a cold kind of coming on and I have been sneezing a lot lately and my nose keeps running so I want to catch it before I get it. I DO NOT want to be sick when I leave for California! So since the drugs are kicking in, I'm hitting the sack. I have to find out who got kicked off of Dancing with the Stars. Since Tom's watching Halloween I didn't get to watch it. I will just have to google it! Night..
