Every year we make the trip into Mokena, IL to stay with our cousin's. They have a big fundraiser to raise money and toys for the children's hospital. There son had Leukemia and has been in remission for about 5 years now and every year they put on this big party and lots of people come to "stock the closet".
We loaded up the van and headed out around 10:30. We packed sandwiches and snacks so we could have a picnic lunch at one of the rest areas along the way. It was a beautiful day, Cooper got to play in the playground area while we ate. He ate a little but but when there is a playground right next to our table you know he's not going to eat!
We got to Chris and Greg's around 2:30 and all the jumping houses were up and running so Cooper got to play all by himself or with mom or dad.
Here we are playing!
Cooper fell and hurt his toe, so he says, so after bath that night he needed a bandaid and Big Bacca was in the bathroom and he wanted her to put it on his little toe. Grandma was a nurse in her day and boy was she a good one and still is!
We called it an early night and headed to bed. Chris and Greg gave us the basement so we set up the pack and play and Cooper slept with Bacca.
We got up Saturday and helped Chris and Greg get ready for the party. People started coming around 1:00.
Cooper giving Cameron snuggles bright and early Saturday morning after naptime! (I think Cooper woke him up actually but no one was around to witness)
The highlight of the day - a Firetruck!
The Firetruck pulled forward and pulled out the big ladder and started the big hose! It sprayed for a good half hour and everyone, all the kids, were soaked. It was a blast. Cooper and Lexi had so much fun.
Before the water started!
During
Chris and Greg running through.
And after.
Someone wants more water (wawa) not sure if you can view this or not!
After the firetruck we had to go change cloths, I had no idea this was going to happen otherwise I would have put him in his swim trunks.
A police car came! All the kids got to sit in the back (hopefully Cooper will never be in one of these again)
And since he was in his swim gear, Lexi took him down the water slide.
Yes, I just got soaked but managed to get a few snaps on my phone! Cooper sure loves Lexi!
Cameron was such a good boy, everyone wanted to hold him. If he wasn't being held, he was in his carseat and everyone kept saying how he's such a good baby. He didn't fuss once!
Here is Joanne with her granddaughter, Quinn, holding Cameron.
The party was fun, Tom, Micayla and myself played in a couple of bean bag tournaments, we didn't win, but it was fun. They also had a bunch of raffle drawings and I won a $25 gift card to Carson's and mom won a $25 gift card to Kohls. It was awesome to win! There was also music playing most of the day.
Mom showing off her Jazzercise moves! As the other 2 were showing her how to quickstep or something. It was cute!
Sunday morning we loaded the van up and headed to Aurora, IL for the night. I found a neat splash park on the internet so we decided to go there and spend the night, plus the outlet mall was right there too, so win win for us!
I didn't get a lot of pictures but there were tons for Cooper to do, here they were swimming in the big pool.
Mom catching some rays!
That night we ordered pizza in the hotel then Tom and Micayla took Cooper swimming, again!
Mom got pooped on by Cameron!
So we decided to call it a night and get Cameron ready for bed. He loved stretching out on the bed and kicking his legs.
The next day, Monday, we loaded up (again) and headed to the outlet mall. We spent a few hours and headed home.
Cooper loved riding on the rides, half of them didn't work, I think we lost a dollar or two but it was fun watching him play!
Maybe Cooper will like Disneyland...hint hint!
Big sissy bought Cooper new Elmo shoes!!
We found some good bargains and decided this might be an annual thing. The waterpark was awesome!
We drove home and ran in to a few nasty storms where we had to pull over a couple times but we made it home safe and sound! We can't wait for next year!
