4 months old

Wow, where does the time go?? I can't believe I'm already writing a blog post about Cameron's 4-months of life!

A few things I want to remember about Cameron's 4 months of life are:
  • You are wearing a size 2 diaper. We prefer Pampers swaddlers and I think we're ready to move you up a size! Cooper at this age was just getting into size 2!
  • You are my chunky monkey and I love it!
  • You're wearing size 6 to 9 month cloths, we've had to pretty much restock your summer wardrobe because I figured you'd just wear what Cooper did. Boy was I wrong! But that's OK, you just wanted your own stuff, I know.

  • You love bath time, I think you get disappointed when we don't have baths. But for the most part we try for every other day.
  • You love to eat! You're exclusively breastfed. You're starting to watch us eat and it makes me sad but I don't want to start giving you cereal yet, however I think the doctor tomorrow is going to tell us different. We will probably weight though, we'll see.
  • You sleep great. You are officially in your crib and this momma has been putting you to bed AWAKE, that's right...you fall right asleep with the sound machine going and sleep all night. I do set the timer so it turns off and every once in a while you'll wake up around 2am and I just go in and put your pacifier back in your mouth and you're good until 5:30 or so then I grab you and bring you in my bed to eat and we get lots of snuggles then. My favorite part of the morning.

  • You had pink eye a few weeks ago that seemed to linger around, so we kept you on eye drops for about 2 weeks. You'd never know it though as you're always smiling!
  • I hate to say this but I think you're teething because you're hand or anything in your had is always in your mouth and you're a drooling machine. I think I need to get the bibs out!

  • You started to roll! Yesterday while working at home, I had you on your back and I looked over and saw you on your belly. Once you get there you're not quite sure if you like it or not but if we put you on your belly you just lift that head up and smile. Also, I went in this morning to get you and you had just rolled over that's when I noticed the whining, you couldn't get back over.
  • You love watching Cooper and Calvin, they make you laugh. I'm just starting to get some big giggles out of you, it's so darn cute.
  • We've set you in your Bumbo a couple of times, you seem to really like it, however your brother will try and push you out because he thinks it's his. Actually he fits in it better than you do right now with those chubby legs, but I'm not complaining.

  • You love being outside and going for walks.
  • Your favorite position when someone is holding you is face forward, that way you can see everything that's going on.
Tomorrow you go for your 4 month check up. I'm pretty sure you're getting shots so before the doctor I have your pictures being taken. I can't wait because I know you're going to put on some big smiles for momma.

I just love you so much, I can't believe you're already 4 months. I really want you to just stop growing and stay small and snuggly and chubby. Looking back at Cooper's 4 month pictures, you two are just so different.

Here is Cooper at 4 months!

They both just light up my world and I don't know what I'd do without them. I thank God everyday for these 2 boys.

Weekend update

This past weekend we stayed home from camping, Tom had a golf outing on Friday and Saturday was Tom's Grandpa's birthday so we all went out for dinner.

While Tom was golfing, me and the boys went to Leisure Lake to visit mom. It was a beautiful night and Cooper loved going on the golf cart. When you go for a ride at the lake you get a LONG ride, not those short rides we take at our campgrounds. LOL I had to take Abby with too. Along the way we saw 2 deer, a momma and baby deer, they were so cute and ran off into the woods when we came by.

Cooper playing on the swing set.

Cameron wanted to stretch out! He loves being on his belly but when he rolls to his belly he gets upset, it's too cute! This little boy always has a smile on his face!

We thought about staying but decided to head home after we Cooper showered, with Grammy, and got our jammies on. Thankfully both kids fell asleep and we called it a night.

Saturday we got up and headed to Farmer's Market and hung out with Tom's Grandparents for a while. We were all going out Saturday night for his Grandpa's 82nd birthday to Spruce Harbor Inn. It was a beautiful night, my nephew Jake watched the boys for me so Tom and I could enjoy our dinner.
They had all-you-can-eat shrimp and it was so good!

Happy birthday to John!

After dinner we headed  home, it was about a 30 minute drive, and ran into some storms but decided, since it was only 7:30, to go get some ice cream and take advantage of our babysitter. It was raining but who cares. So we stopped at Betty Jane's for ice cream! OMG they have the best...if you love Gremlins you'd love the Gremlin ice cream.

We got home around 8:30, Jake hung out with us for a while. Cooper was still awake but Cameron was out for the night.

Sunday morning we cleaned up the house a bit then decided to go swimming at The Yacht Basin with Tom's parents, it was a beautiful day and we didn't want to waste it.

My sweet 4-month old snoozing after eating!

Sunday night we had mom out for supper, we grilled steaks, zucchini that we got from market, and fincel's sweet corn that was frozen from last year. Yumm!

We had a great weekend and glad we got to spend it with family!

Weekend in Chicago

This past weekend, we spent in Chicago! Tom and I took off of work Friday and Monday and enjoyed our time with family!

Every year we make the trip into Mokena, IL to stay with our cousin's. They have a big fundraiser to raise money and toys for the children's hospital. There son had Leukemia and has been in remission for about 5 years now and every year they put on this big party and lots of people come to "stock the closet".

We loaded up the van and headed out around 10:30. We packed sandwiches and snacks so we could have a picnic lunch at one of the rest areas along the way. It was a beautiful day, Cooper got to play in the playground area while we ate. He ate a little but but when there is a playground right next to our table you know he's not going to eat!

We got to Chris and Greg's around 2:30 and all the jumping houses were up and running so Cooper got to play all by himself or with mom or dad.
Here we are playing!

Cooper fell and hurt his toe, so he says, so after bath that night he needed a bandaid and Big Bacca was in the bathroom and he wanted her to put it on his little toe. Grandma was a nurse in her day and boy was she a good one and still is!

We called it an early night and headed to bed. Chris and Greg gave us the basement so we set up the pack and play and Cooper slept with Bacca.

We got up Saturday and helped Chris and Greg get ready for the party. People started coming around 1:00.
Cooper giving Cameron snuggles bright and early Saturday morning after naptime! (I think Cooper woke him up actually but no one was around to witness)

The highlight of the day - a Firetruck!

The Firetruck pulled forward and pulled out the big ladder and started the big hose! It sprayed for a good half hour and everyone, all the kids, were soaked. It was a blast. Cooper and Lexi had so much fun.

Before the water started!

During

Chris and Greg running through.

And after.

Someone wants more water (wawa) not sure if you can view this or not!

After the firetruck we had to go change cloths, I had no idea this was going to happen otherwise I would have put him in his swim trunks.
A police car came! All the kids got to sit in the back (hopefully Cooper will never be in one of these again)

And since he was in his swim gear, Lexi took him down the water slide.

Yes, I just got soaked but managed to get a few snaps on my phone! Cooper sure loves Lexi!

Cameron was such a good boy, everyone wanted to hold him. If he wasn't being held, he was in his carseat and everyone kept saying how he's such a good baby. He didn't fuss once!

Here is Joanne with her granddaughter, Quinn, holding Cameron.

The party was fun, Tom, Micayla and myself played in a couple of bean bag tournaments, we didn't win, but it was fun. They also had a bunch of raffle drawings and I won a $25 gift card to Carson's and mom won a $25 gift card to Kohls. It was awesome to win! There was also music playing most of the day.

Mom showing off her Jazzercise moves! As the other 2 were showing her how to quickstep or something. It was cute!

Sunday morning we loaded the van up and headed to Aurora, IL for the night. I found a neat splash park on the internet so we decided to go there and spend the night, plus the outlet mall was right there too, so win win for us!

I didn't get a lot of pictures but there were tons for Cooper to do, here they were swimming in the big pool.

Mom catching some rays!

That night we ordered pizza in the hotel then Tom and Micayla took Cooper swimming, again!
Mom got pooped on by Cameron!

So we decided to call it a night and get Cameron ready for bed. He loved stretching out on the bed and kicking his legs.

The next day, Monday, we loaded up (again) and headed to the outlet mall. We spent a few hours and headed home.

Cooper loved riding on the rides, half of them didn't work, I think we lost a dollar or two but it was fun watching him play!

Maybe Cooper will like Disneyland...hint hint!

Big sissy bought Cooper new Elmo shoes!!

We found some good bargains and decided this might be an annual thing. The waterpark was awesome!

We drove home and ran in to a few nasty storms where we had to pull over a couple times but we made it home safe and sound! We can't wait for next year!
