Disneyland vacation part one

Wow, I don't even know where to begin....all I can say is I had an AMAZING vacation thanks to Luke, Steph and Leah!

It all started last Friday, the day after Thanksgiving, Tom and Brandon drove me up to Madison at 2:30am, my flight was leaving at 6:30 so we didn't get much sleep, but I was pumped so it didn't really bother me. We got up to Madison about 4:15am or so and decided to do a little "black Friday" shopping since I didn't want to be at the airport super early, just enough time to go through security and hop on the plane, so we ended up going to JcPenney's, I found a really cute pair of shoes and Tom found himself a waffle maker that he's been wanting forever so it was special so he broke down and bought it. So I must say it was worth the trip to the mall. After all that, it was about 5:15 so we decided we better get to the airport. Everything was on time and made it through security with no questions. I did have to take a few things out of my suitcase because it was over 50 pounds. I think it weighed about 54 pounds. But on my scale at home it showed 47lbs. Speaking of my suitcase, we had a little set back about 8:00 on Thanksgiving night as I was packing my bags, I went to zip my suitcase up to weigh it and the zipper broke, I was not very happy. The last thing I wanted to do at that time was go get a new or borrow a suitcase. I called mom and she said to come up and get hers, she's got a big one, so off we went up to mom and dad's, thank God it wasn't at 2:00am, I'm just glad it happened when it did. So mom's suitcase is much bigger than mine and I think it weighs much more than mine with nothing in it, so with all my stuff and a few Christmas presents for Luke, Stephanie and Leah it was pretty full. But the weight on my scale said 47lbs, unfortunately when I got to the airport scales it was 54lbs or so, so I had to take a few things out and put them on my carry on, not that big of deal, but we did have to leave one of Luke's presents back, sorry Luke, Mom will mail it.

All the flights were great, no delays or anything, everything made it to California. Luke picked me up and to there house I went to see little Lele and Steph. It was so great to see them and Leah is getting so big and so smart, it's hard to believe she's already two, but talks like she's going on 5.

Steph had her house all decorated for the holidays and everything was so beautiful. Here's a picture of her tree, I love this tree. I want a prelit one, maybe after the holidays we can find a new one. I wouldn't mind a real tree one day too...

We all left for Disneyland Sunday morning around 10:00, it wasn't the best day for travel as a lot of people were heading home from the Thanksgiving weekend, it was bumper to bumper traffic most of the way. We stopped at a small town, if it was even a town, but the place was absolutely crazy, there were police officers directing traffic when we were trying to leave. We stopped for gas a quick bite to eat at McDonald's, I think we ended up losing about a half an hour by stopping there but it was OK, we were just enjoying each others company. Luke did all the driving! Here are a few pictures I took along the way.

Heading to LA

Leah eating a peanut butter and marshallow fluff sandwich.

Someone's suitcase feel off the top of their car, I bet they didn't even realize it until they go to where ever they were going. I wouldn't wish this on nobody.

The scenery wasn't the best, as it was all flat and lots of different trees, Lemon, Orange and Peanut trees were the most we seen, but once we go to this mountain, things really changed, it was beautiful driving through this mountain.

Pyramid Lake, right in the mountain, it was beautiful.

Disneyland Dr.

We made it to Disneyland, it was Magical from the moment we stepped out of our vehicle.

We got into the hotel about 6:00, we relaxed for a little while then headed out into Disney's Downtown District.

A view from our room.

Luke and Steph upgraded our room so we would be able to see the fireworks out our window and boy did we every, they were beautiful. My good camera does not take good night pictures and my little camera I took specifically for night pictures, and I forgot my charger at Luke and Steph's house so I only got a few night pictures. The others are on my phone and I don't know how to upload pictures from that.

One of the many Christmas trees.

I should break this blog up, but if I go to bed now, my husband will be upset with me because he knew I was up late while I was on vacation and he kept giving me the business about coming home and going to be at 9:00 because I was up past 11:00 in California everything night, sorry sweetie, but I don't think I'm going to be able to stay up that late.

So Sunday night, Luke and I went out for a couple of drinks so Leah could go to sleep, she had a big day ahead of her. ESPN Zone was just around the corner from our hotel so we went over there and had a few drinks and played a few games, this place had an upstairs that had different games like race car driving, basketball and football throwing, we had a blast but weren't out too late because the park opened at 8:00 am and we were going to be one of the first in line to get into Disneyland. We were up at 6:00 and were fourth in line! If you can't believe it, here's proof.

Luke and Leah patiently waiting for the gates to open. She was so excited.

Our first picture inside Disneyland park.

More pictures to come, I'm heading to bed!
