And he's off.....

As of yesterday, Cooper has officially started to crawl!

Boy did we have a hard time uploading this video, thanks to my wonderful husband he figured it out, I never had a doubt!

Anyway, yesterday afternoon when I got home from work I came home to Tom and Cooper playing on the floor and Tom's like "watch" Cooper was crawling, he was after a post card, he loves paper. And he kept doing it, it wasn't a fluke or anything, he really moved his arms and legs. He gets lazy sometimes and just plops to what he's grabbing but he'll take a few steps.

Now my goal for this weekend is get a baby gate and get things child-proofed. I have all the things to lock the cabinets and drawers but I'm after a baby gate that does not have anything we have to step over. I can see myself or someone going down the steps, opening the gate and tripping, so I'm after a certain one. We don't have any baby stores here other than Target, Walmart and Kmart, oh and ShopKo. I'm looking online as well so hopefully I'll find one. Yeah I know I should have done this a while ago but thought, heck, if he's not mobile what the use, we'll that time has come! And its only going to get worse, but I'm loving every minute of it.

Tonight while we were cooking supper Cooper was in the living room where his toys were and all he wanted was to be by us, so I brought him in near the kitchen and he crawled over to where he wanted to be, by us! I gave him a few things out of the cabinet and he was as content as can be and played there for quite a while, I even got my vacuuming done. I seen Cooper go for something on the floor and thought "oh great, this means I have to vacuum more" but it's all good and oh so worth it.

So I can officially say Cooper started crawling on Oct.24th 2012 - Lexi's Birthday!

Bath Time Fun!!

Last Saturday night we headed up to the campgrounds for one last hoorah! It was beautiful weekend so we thought what the heck. Their were a few others up there as well. Saturday night I decided to give Cooper a bath, in the bathtub, in the camper, normally what I did was put him right in the sink but he's getting too darn big. I have never given him a bath without his sling so I was kind of worried but thought what the heck, it's a small tub.

HE LOVED IT!

He loves splashing around and didn't mind his hair being washed or anything, he's just he best!
Here he's in the camper bath tub, perfect size!

His favorite thing to do - suck on the washcloth.

So to continue what we've started in the camper, Sunday night when it was time to get ready for bed, I decided to attempt another bath night. I was leary of not using the sling just because our tub at home is much bigger but thought what the heck, go for it!

Micayla was in snapping pictures, I was too scared to take my hands away from him. He sure is a ham!

Love that when he sees a camera or a phone pointed at him, he looks and smiles.

Then tonight, I tempted it again, this time it was so much easier. He's loving it more and more. His favorite thing to do is get mommy wet by splashing his wash cloth in the water. He's so smart, he dunks the wash cloth so there is more water to suck, he's no dummy that's for sure!
Momma got a few pictures with her phone.

I still can't believe my boy is sitting up all by himself, time sure does fly! He's starting to climb and pull himself up, they had to move his bed down at daycare yesterday. They looked over, thought he was sleeping and holy cow, he was standing!! I haven't seen it yet, but I'm sure I will soon, then I'll get some pictures and blog about it!!

Seven Months Old!

Wow, does time fly!!

Things I want to remember about Cooper 7 months of life are:

  • We are finishing up size 2 diapers - Pamper Swaddlers and moving onto 3's
  • You are still exclusively breastfed. This has been challenging for momma but I'm hanging in there and I hope to make it to your first birthday!
  • No teeth yet!
  • You are wearing 6 to 9 month clothes and 9 month jammies. You are growing like a weed! I just went through your closet and pulled out the 9 month clothes so you can start wearing them.
  • You are about ready to take off crawling, I can see your little brain twirling thinking "how can I do this, what can I do to get to where I want to go". It's so fun watching you rock. Micayla and Brandon practice with you too.
  • You love Micayla and Brandon so much. They love loving on you too.
  • Daddy says you don't love him as much and that you cry when it's just the two of you. He loves you so much and I know he can't wait until you can go a whole couple hours with just him and not cry.
  • You love bath time, your favorite thing to do is suck on the washcloth. I try and rinse it with clean water but you figured out every time you dunk it in the water there is more to suck on. You're so smart! So I just let you go because every time I take it away you get so mad. I still have you in the sling, I tried a couple of times just sitting you in the tub but it seems so slippery. This momma is nervous about you slipping. Maybe I can get some non-slip things for the tub.
  • Every time someone comes into the room you just smile, it melts everyone's heart.
  • You are getting very independent, you'll sit and play for a long time before you want someone's attention, however, the last couple of weeks have been different. You don't want to be by yourself, you want to be in the same area, such as when mommy's getting ready for work you like to be in the bathroom with me. And when Daddy is cooking supper you like to be near the kitchen.
  • You are very nosy lately, you like to know what's going on. When you hear something you immediately turn to check it out.
  • You love playing "where's Cooper" I play this when I'm changing you. I will put whatever clothes I'm taking off or putting on and cover your face with it and say "where's Cooper" you laugh hysterically. It's so darn cute!
  • You finally started to eat baby food. I can't tell what your favorite is because you like EVERYTHING! You started with sweet potatoes, then went to squash. In California, you tried Peas, you kind of turned up your nose just a little but still ate it all.
  • Speaking of California, you went on your first airplane ride! You loved it. You loved sitting by the window and looking out into the sky. When we flew at night you loved looking at all the lights. You can't wait for your next trip to see your cousin's.
  • While in CA you took a shower with mommy. Again, you loved it, there isn't much you don't like, I'll get to that later. Daddy held you while Mommy washed you, it worked out great and you didn't quite know what to think when I held you under the water, but you didn't seem to mind. It was much easier and less hard on my back than giving you a bath.
  • You are such a good boy when we go out to dinner. Mommy and Daddy get lots of "wow, he's so good" and "what a cutie" we love all the compliment.
  • You seem to like school, the last couple of days though, you cried when mommy dropped you off.
  • You had your first Parent-Teacher conferences this month. You are so loved at daycare too!
  • You don't like it when I wipe your nose! That's the least favorite thing. I also wash your face off every morning before school and you're not a big fan of this either but not as much as getting your nose wiped.

I went to put a onesie on and he decided he wanted to stay naked, so after a while I put the sticker on his belly, he didn't know what to think.

And one last thing I want to remember is TODAY he sat up all by himself, he might have actually done it the other morning. I swear he was on his belly and when I turned around to look at him he was on his butt. I can't remember how I sat him down but today I officially seen it happen. I sure wish I got it on video but I got a few good pictures.

Alright, how am I going to sit up??

Start to tuck one leg under

Then push myself up.

I'm clapping and he's looking at me like "what are you doing?"

His next trick, he wanted to climb up on his bed.

Next month I have a feeling I'll be saying he's crawling and pulling himself up on things!!! OMG  Cooper you need to slow down, you're growing up way too fast. I love every minute of every day with you. You have my heart and I still can't believe you're mine. I don't know that I'll ever believe it, but I love you so so much! I can't wait to see what next happens.

Just a snap shot, didn't know how it would turn out but not too bad.

Parent - Teacher Conferences

Yes that's right, parent-teacher conferences for Cooper. I was super excited to go, heck it was my first one so I was pumped! I know crazy huh?? I was thinking the same thing when I saw the sign up sheet. I was the first to sign up so I got the first one of the night. All I can say is Cooper is such a sweetie and everyone loves him.

Here is what he's accomplished so far. (everything highlighted in yellow) I did have them start feeding him cereal in the mornings so that can now be highlighted as well.

I put him in his bed for a picture, he didn't really like it, I think he thought we were keeping him there. He did cry for me this morning when I left, poor thing, I was so sad to leave him. It was the first time he's cried for me.

OK all is better now, momma's holding me!!! I just love it here, everyone is so nice. I wanted to get a picture of Angie, she's the lead in the newborn room but he wasn't wanting anything to do with her tonight.

To celebrate a wonderful conference we celebrated by going to The Mining Company. It was yummy.

He loved looking around at all the people and stuff hanging on the walls.

He even had a few puffs dipped in ketchup or ranch. That's ketchup on his top lip. He didn't know what to think but he wasn't turning it down.

Daddy and Cooper after dinner. He was giving him drinks of his water and Cooper loved it.

I can't believe my little boy had parent-teacher conferences already, he's getting so big. I love ABC Learning and everything they do for Cooper. The only thing I had to talk to them about was wiping Coopers nose. Every time he comes home from school he has a crusty nose and this momma does not like that. I notice it to once in a while when I go feed him at lunch. I even offered to bring in Kleenex but they do have them around the room so we'll see if it gets better.

Weekend organization

This past weekend was a wet and dreary one so we decided to stay home and get some stuff done around the house. It was a very successful weekend! The first time in a long time I can that.

Here are a few pics of our house organization plus some Halloween decor.

We went shopping Friday night for anything and everything we could find to get junk put away, such as bills and just stuff, I know you all know what I mean.
So we started with the "bill rack" thing, I sure wish I took some before pictures, but here is next to our computer where Tom pays the bills.
We got this organizer at Staples.

We found some clearance tubs at Target and decided to get a bunch of them for our pantry, it's never been this organized! We love it and I love going into it!

Those are the only pictures I got but we organized our spice cabinet, you know all those spices you hardly ever use when you have to buy a certain spice for one recipe, such as ALUM, hello, what the heck is that?? And we have 2 of them! That's just to name a few. We cleaned out and combined a lot of stuff that we had duplicates of. We bought a few turn tables from Bed Bath and Beyond along with a a couple 3 tier shelves, it all worked out perfectly. If you look at the pantry picture above we used a few of them for our can goods.

The other place I organized was under the kitchen sink and in our bathroom, the drawers and under the sinks. All was so messy and it feels so good to go into our drawer and find what I'm looking for without moving everything around.

And all the Halloween stuff is out, we definitely have hit fall, the cold, rainy weather is here. I'm so not looking forward to snow.

The entry way, I didn't get a close up picture of Cooper with is Halloween PJ's on in the trick or treat frame I got, it's so cute!

My new candle "thing", I can't think what it's called, but the picture is above the stairs and the candles are on the ledge going down. It looked so pretty all lit up.

The sofa table all decorated too.

A couple pumpkin candles.

The island in the kitchen. Tom cut me some mums, they are so pretty this time of year.

Sunday night we had Tom and Linda up for supper, we had a pork roast in the crock pot all day and it smelled so so good.

Linda and Cooper playing.

Grandma fed me sweet potatoes and they were so yummy.

I'm full Grandma!

After looking at the last 2 pictures, these were not taking last night. LOL I have no idea when they were taking but I'm just leaving it. I just noticed he had 2 different outfits on. Oh well, he loves to eat!

This was taken Saturday morning, I think! Cooper is ready to take off, he does not like to be sitting or on his back, this is new way of "sitting". This is how he is when I go to get him in the mornings too. It's so funny watching him on the monitor and just listening to himself grunt until he gets to where he wants to be.
