14 and 15 month old!

Since I missed Cooper's 14 and 15 month pictures and all his stats, I thought since we went to the doctor for Coop 15 month check up, I thought now would be a perfect time to write on how much he has grown!

Cooper's 15 month stats:
Weight - 21 pounds, still a little peanut
Height - 31 inches, here he shot up...we went from around the 10th percentile to about 40, so we were happy with that.

He received two shot yesterday and handled them like a champ. He screamed for a second then once mommy grabbed him and the nurses left, he was good to go! He even slept in until 8:30 today! Glad I got to work from today.

A few things I want to remember of Cooper 14 and 15 months of life!
  • He is in size 4 diaper, we moved to a Target brand, but I think since we've done this, he's broke out in a rash so I will be switching back to Pampers.
  • He is wearing size 9mo to 12mo pants, however tops, we prefer 18 months. I sure we could mix and match sets. LOL Pajamas we buy 18 months, shorts are definitely 12 months and shirts are 18, so right now we have a variety of cloths and sizes. I went through all his clothes the other day we are set for summer! It has finally arrived, now if we can just get rid of this rain!
  • He takes one nap a day and it's usually a long one! Normally about 2 hours, right after lunch and he usually sleeps until 2 or so. Daycare said he loves to sleep! Like I said earlier, he slept until 8:30 today. He rarely wakes up in the middle of the night, if he does, I just let him fall back asleep. I'll peek on the monitor and if he's sitting up, I'll have to go in, but if he's just tossing and turning he'll fall back asleep.
  • He goes to bed around 8:00 - 8:30
  • Lately, I've been giving him a bath every night, especially in the summer. I hate him going to bed with sunblock on. At school they will go outside and play and they always lube him up with sublock so I like to wash all that off and get him cleaned up. I also think he sleeps better too.
I have to tell a few funny stories, not really stories but things Cooper does. For example, Cooper is fully walking now and every time we go into the refrigerator, he can reach the little drawer, we have a new fridge where the freezer is on the bottom and 2 doors to the fridge. Well, we have a little drawer that slides out, we usually have string cheese in it and Cooper can get up on his tippy toes and reach in and grab it. He immediately wants it. He will take it to whoever we ask so they can open it, then before giving him the cheese we'll say "go throw the wrapper away" and sure enough, he walks over to the garbage can and puts his wrapper in there. I was floored! I didn't know he knew that was the garbage, he really catches on to things. And he comes back for his cheese. This boy eats a whole string cheese, sometimes we have to ask ourselves if he ate it or hid it because he eats it so darn fast. You'd think he'd be constipated but nope, not this kid!

Another thing he does, is he loves to feed people. Today, we were at the Yacht Basin Pool, and Cooper was eating Goldfish and we asked him for some. I would say "give one to Grandma", he would walk over, we were out of the pool at this time, and give one to her. Same for Grandpa and daddy and Tom's uncle Bob (aka Boner) Cooper knew exactly who was who and would take one or two fishy's to each person. This kid is so smart! You say, let's go take a bath, he walks to the bathroom. I"ll say, let's go sit in your chair and play the computer, he'll walk and sit in his chair. I guess I'm just shocked because you always wonder if they hear and know what you're saying. And lately he's just been blowing my mind! If he hears someone coming from the basement, he'll run to the gate at the stop of the steps. Oh one other thing, he loves to walk up the steps, he'll get to the top, wait for someone to open the gate then he'll go in turn around and close the gate. He's trying to figure the gate out, this is next I'm sure. But we're trying to not let him watch us open and close it because we know he'll figure it out!

I just can't believe how much he has grown and is excelling at everything. He loves to listen and play on the Ipad. I think daycare has so much to do with this because I know the days I stay home with him, we just play. I think daycare is much more structured and I'm very happy with choosing ABC Learning.

  •  He is starting to say a few words. It's funny, because he whispers them. His favorite words are Ball - "ball", Puppy - "baba" he says "bah bah" for a lot of things such as Brandon, we call him bubba... he can say hot and blow on his fingers like he's blowing whatever is hot. He says acky.
  • He loves to be outside, he'll go and get his shoes or sandals when I say "let's go outside".
  • His big brother and sister are still his favorite people. Daddy's still on top too, it's getting better. The other day camping, I was trying to get him to go to sleep in the back of the camper while Tom was watching TV. Cooper got up and walked over to Tom, held up his arms, and went to sleep on Tom. It was so sweet!
  • Both Grandparents are his favorite too. Cooper got to spend the night at my parents a few weeks ago and he had a blast. Mom and dad loved it and I'm so glad he was a good boy.
  • Cooper loves to swim! He could be in the pool all day and not mind one bit.
Cooper you are amazing and everyday there is something else you do that I say to myself "wow, you're mine" I love you to pieces and I just don't know how I will be able to love another as much as I love you. I know I will but it just makes me wonder how. Hopefully you'll be a big brother soon, we find out in one week! You will be a great big brother, lets hope you're a big brother to one at a time!

Here are a few pictures I want to share:

We went to our company's picnic last week and Micayla took him to get a tattoo, don't he look tough?

and going down the slide! It was hot!!

Someone's being silly:

We had a VERY special visitor last week. Once Cooper warmed up to him, he sure loved his Uncle Luke. We can't wait to see them again in August!

Cheese! Eating snacks outside with Mommy, it was hot. this is when we decided to hit the pool.

This past weekend we went to a graduation party at Swiss Valley Park and we did some creek stomping.

and of course, chasing Cooper around.

Happy Father's Day

This weekend was filled with lots of barbeques and lots of hugs and kisses to our dear sweet dads. We stayed home from camping, 2 trips to Davenport was in the agenda so we decided to stay home, plus we had some family things going on so we stayed home. It was the perfect weekend, the weather was awesome and we had some wonderful food.

Saturday afternoon, we went to Tom's aunt's house to celebrate Father's Day on Tom's side of the family. We brought our own meat, we brought brats, and a dish to pass. Tom made a new recipe, he watched Trisha Yearwood on the food network Saturday morning and said "that's what I'm making tonight". And that he did, he made 2 batches, one for Saturday night and one for Sunday night, it worked out good and they were delicious. I'm not a baked bean fan but these were good. Everyone seemed to like them as well. After dinner, we just hung around the patio, played with bubbles and enjoyed each others company. We had a fire as well, until it decided to rain for about 10 minutes, just enough to get everything wet and the fire to really smoke, so we packed up and headed home.

These are the only 2 pictures I got of the night, oops! Cooper enjoying his Teddy Grahams, eating of course.

Sunday, we had to make a quick trip to Davenport for an ultrasound, more to come on that later, but it was such a nice day, we decided to cool off at the pool. Grandma Linda watched Cooper while we were in Davenport, and when we got home, he had just eaten lunch and was about ready for a nap until I said "you want to go swimming?" He perked right up so we got ready, ran to Target quick, stopped and grabbed a couple of subs then hit the pool. By that time Cooper was sleeping in the car, so we snuggled for a while. He didn't take a very long nap, he was too excited to go swimming. He LOVED it! Again, this is the only picture I got and he looks scared to death, but really he enjoyed it. I had to load on the sunblock a couple of times, my boy has such pale skin. We can't wait to enjoy the Hendrick's pool in few short months!

After swimming, we got cleaned up and headed to Andy's house for hamburgers! This is where I got to enjoy Father's Day with dad! This Father's Day was extra special, we gave lots of extra hugs and kisses. Cooper made Grandpa a shirt with his hand prints, he made one for Grandpa Tom too, he did so good, like he's an ole pro. LOL

Dad and I getting our picture taken, kind of blurry, but oh well...

Cooper playing with Grandpa's cane, he loves this thing!

Eating snacks

Gavin pushing Cooper in his truck. These guys had so much fun!

And after supper, the boys were such a mess we gave them a bath together. Don't they look like twins? Gavin is about 3 months younger than Cooper, but they get along so good.

And saying goodbye to Grandpa, like I said, lots of hugs and kisses.

This Father's Day was very special because it may just be my last Father's Day with my dad, so I wanted to spend as much time with him as I could. We spent a few hours up there yesterday too. He is doing SO good, he looks good and has good energy. I heard he was going to play cards tomorrow at the Moose, so when that happens, it's a good day! Picking out a Father's Day card this year was so hard, I was crying just reading them, then when he opened it and was reading it out loud, I was crying again, as was he and mom! He just means so much to me, thinking about all the things that he's done for me and he's ALWAYS there, no matter what. I am trying to cherish every day I have left with him because I know one day, he's not going to be here. So I take a lot of pictures and I'm trying to get more and more video's. He is just so special to me, as is my mother! I love them both more than they ever know!

Rough day at daycare

The other day, Tuesday, I think... I meant to blog this, actually I had a whole thing typed up and for some reason I hit a button and it disappeared and I didn't feel like typing it up again so I went to bed.

So last week, Cooper had a really rough day at daycare. Tom picked him up and came home and said Cooper got bit twice! The first time, they were eating lunch and the kid next to him decided he wanted some of Cooper's food and Cooper didn't want to give up any of his food. If you know my boy, he LOVES to eat, so he didn't want to share so the kids bit him in the arm. See the picture below.

Later that afternoon after lunch, Cooper was playing with his toys and one of the kids came up to Cooper and wanted his toy, well Coop didn't want to share, I guess, so the kid, not sure if it was the same one, I'm guessing it was, but bit his finger. No marks left on the finger but you could clearly see the bit marks on his arm. Poor kid! Daddy had to sign two incident reports and the girls wrote the sweetest things on them.

I'm sure this is the first of many bite marks and such, but it just breaks my heart knowing my little boy is getting picked on at school. I just hope he doesn't learn to bite and start biting, but for now I haven't seen him do any such thing. Daddy says to bite back, but we don't want to start that, he'll just have to learn to stand up for himself! LOL

Blogging lately...

I know, I have been slacking! I have no excuse, actually I do...I just don't have the energy. Work is busy, nothing like my last job and when I come home at night, the last thing I want to do is sit in front of a computer. But if I don't start catching up on my blog, I will regret it.

Heck, I missed Cooper's 14 month update...I'm just going to wait until his 15 month because so much has changed. He is just the most precious thing in my life and every day there is seems to be something different! So we'll start with Cooper.

Cooper has been a walking machine. I think on my last "monthly" post I said he was still crawling, well that changed and he's now walking. He can stand up all by himself and go wherever he wants. He's always where he's not supposed to be, of course. And when we find him, he just looks up at us and grin. He sprouted 4 top teeth in the matter of days of apart, this made for some fun nights but they are through and all is good. They are just the cutest little teeth ever. He now loves to eat bigger things and chew such as string cheese. I'll just give him a whole piece without even cutting it up, he gobbles it right up. He loves string cheese, however I think he loves it because when we open the refrigerator door, he can reach the sliding drawer where we keep them, so every time we go into the fridge he wants one. He doesn't get one every time, holy cow, he'd really be bound up. LOL So enough about Cooper...

There are a few things going on in my life that I HAVE to start sharing because I need all the prayers I can get. Tom and I have starting the IVF process again...My first shot was on June 5th, we went for an ultrasound on June 4th in Davenport, then had to head to Iowa City to get one more prescription. This one they could have mailed it like the rest of them but then we would have had to make a second trip to Davenport and since we'll be there enough in the next couple of weeks we thought we'd take the day off and just get it done. So after our ultrasound, we headed to Iowa City, it's about an hour from Davenport whereas about 2 hours from Dubuque. We stop at an outlet mall and did a little shopping, I got a new Coach purse, and headed back to Iowa City to pick up my prescription. Well, we get there, you know nothing goes as planned, we were gone over 3 hours, plenty of time to get out prescription ready, well when we get there, they don't have any record of it! WHAT??? Keep in mind we are starving, we thought we'd go pick up the prescription then go grab something to eat. Well, the ladies in Davenport forgot to have the doctor sign off on it and fax it to Iowa City! We were not happy. I called Dport and they apologized and so on...we had to wait about 2 hours! After we finally got our drugs we hit a local bar/restaurant called Shorts burgers and shine OMG it was so good, one of the best burgers I've had. After there we stopped and went through the Iowa City bookstore and bought some Hawkeye gear. Then headed home, mom and dad had Cooper and they were making us supper.

So, with all that said, we have started the IVF process, I am now on day 7 of my shots. Yesterday I went for a blood draw, I can do that locally, and the doctor's office called and told me what my next doses were so starting yesterday I'm up to 4 shots. Two in my leg and two in my belly. I go back Wednesday for another blood draw to find out my next dose and when my next ultrasound will be, she thinks Friday! So probably sometime next week will be my egg retrieval day and so on...I'll update more as the time goes by, hopefully!
