Weekend recap!

This past weekend we decided to stay home since we've all been hit with the flu bug, except for Cooper, thank God! He just has a little cold. So Friday night, we stayed in, made chicken quesadilla's, and just relaxed. I put Cooper in bed around 8:00 and I was in bed at 8:30. It was a long week and I was exhausted.

Saturday morning we woke up all feeling great, so we loaded up the truck with our "new" table and chairs for the camper. We bought a used outdoor set so we could get rid of our picnic table. It was a gorgeous day so we hung out up there for a while. We thought about staying but we didn't bring anything with us, not that we don't have enough stuff up there, its just I didn't want Cooper outside all day so we decided to head back home around 4:00.

Cooper after eating up at the camper, actually this might have been before he ate.

Hello mommy!

Ok mommy, enough pictures already, I'm hungry!

We stopped at Gooch's Greenhouse for some yummy pizza. On our way home we talked about going to Summers Last Blast down at the Town Clock so we called for a sitter, never to hard to find a sitter for Cooper, and we pick up Chris and Kristi and headed downtown. They have 3 or 4 different bands playing, it was a beautiful night and we had lots of fun. It's been a while since we've been out. Micayla and her sister Madison watched Cooper at home. Tom and Linda were going to watch him but Micayla said she would, it was nice not having to take him out. They had a blast.

Madison and Cooper playing.

Micayla has this smurf in her room and Madison brought it out to play with. It looks so big next to both of them.

Sunday we hung at home all day until the rain stopped, then headed out to Sam's and to the fish store. We needed some more fish to help clean the tank. LOL Before we left to go out shopping we had a visitor - Gavin, Lorlie and Andy. Lorlie was looking for some shorts for Gavin, 0 to 3 month and since Cooper has outgrown that size I told her to come on over and go through the clothes. I think she found a few things. I didn't even pay attention to what she took. I was busy playing with Gavin, he's such a cutie. I can see Cooper and him being good buddies!

I'm so upset, this is the only picture I got of Gavin and Cooper. Gavin was hungry at this point, oh well, we'll get lots of pictures next weekend when we're camping. All the Ryan's will there!

5 Months Old!

On Saturday the 18th, Cooper celebrated 5 months of life! I can't hardly believe it. It's now Wednesday, the flu bug has his the Hillebrand household. I had it, the kids and Tom now has it and Cooper has a cold, so this is a little late. I guess better late than never huh??

The 3 pictures below in his Sons of Anarchy shirt were taken on Saturday up at the campgrounds, I forgot my little stickers. This shirt came from Micayla!

Don't he look like a biker dude?

And here he his, red cheeks and all, on Tuesday. He's getting so big and almost sitting up by himself.

A few things I want to remember about Cooper's 5 months of life are:

  • You are still in a size 1 diaper. We prefer Pampers but we are using up what we got while you were in Mommy's tummy. You are about 2 days away from going to a size 2
  • Clothes - holy cow kid, you're a growing boy. You barely got to wear 3 to 6 month clothing, we are now buying you 6 to 9 month and those are just fitting.
  • You are still exclusively breastfed. Momma loves this but knows the time to start feeding you some food is just around the corner. You watch us eat our food and it breaks my heart because I know you want what we have. Daddy gives you bites here and there and you love it. You've tried pancakes and ice cream, that you love the best.
  • You are a rolling machine, if we take our eyes off you, you are in a completely different spot than where we put you down at. It's so funny, you'll get stuck under the swing and can't figure out how to get back. I think you only roll one way, I'm sure you'll figure it out soon.
  • You finally moved to your big bed and you've been sleeping great. You usually wake up once just so mommy comes in to check on you and give you your pacifier, then you wake up around 5:15 or so then you come into bed with momma to eat and fall back asleep until 7 then we get you up for school.
  • You're always so happy to wake up and go to school. I hope it's always like this.
  • No teeth yet, but I think they're coming. You're a drooling, drooling baby. Everything goes into your mouth
  • Your bedtime is still around 8:00, you get fussy around 7:30 so we start to get you ready for bed around then.
  • Bath time is getting fun, you're really starting to like it but momma can't wait until you can sit up. You get a bath every other day. You were spoiled by your Grandma's the other day and they both helped give you a bath, more pics to come on that. You thought this was so much fun.
  • You love to talk! Momma will be getting ready in the morning and I'll hear you wake up and just start talking to yourself. This sure puts a smile on my face!
  • You love your brother and sister, every time they walk into the room, you put a big smile on your face, it's so sweet. And they love you too!
  • You and daddy love hanging out when you get home. You get to watch TV, usually the food network, no wonder you want to start eating food, daddy teases you all the time.  I'll come home and you'll both be on the floor on your bellies watching TV, it's the cutest thing.
  • You love being outside! If you're crabby we'll just take you outside to sit and cool off and you're good to go.
Cooper I just can't explain the joy you bring to my life. I love you so much and I still can't believe you're mine. I know its been 5 months but I'm still in shock that you're here. I love you so much and can't wait to see what the next month brings.

Here are few more of Cooper lying down on his blanket.

On a roll...

Cooper has been a rolling machine! I finally took some good pictures with the good camera to catch it. I need to figure out how to take a video and post it on the blog. Any help???

So I kind of went picture overboard but oh well. You can all see how big he's getting. And for the record, we are not St. Louis Cardinal fans. Cooper had a blowout at school and they must have got his clothes mixed up with someone else, but he didn't seem to mind, he was happy as can be!

Here he goes, it takes a while but he gets it!

Almost, come on..

Tuck and roll, that's what daddy teaches him.

He made it!

He loves to sit like this and watch TV, but not this time, he's interested in something else, I think a toy.

I love this picture! It's one of my favorites.

Coop was so exhausted he fell asleep. This kid can sleep anywhere - love it!

And just a few more from this past weekend!
He's getting so big and he's almost sitting up by himself.

Tom suggested we put him in his crib likes he's standing up, well he is but it doesn't last long. He's looking at me like "mom, what are you doing, I can't stand here by myself!"

You can see him falling over. LOL We caught him, don't worry.

And one last thing we hung on the wall in the front room, don't mind all the other crap lying around, but focus on the wall hanging, we got this at Walmart a couple weeks ago and I finally got around to printing out pictures and getting them put in the frame, it wasn't an easy thing to do with a baby around.

Busy Busy Weekend

I know it's Tuesday  Wednesday and I'm now just trying to catch up on my blog from the weekend. It was a busy one. No camping so we had lots going on. I'm going to sum it all up with one blog post. I will one day probably kick myself for this if I ever want to go back and re-read and/or print this but oh well. I just don't have enough time in the day to do it all! LOL

Friday night we went up to mom and dad's for steak and hashbrowns. Mom picked up Cooper and Chris's boys were up there as well. Also Justin has a girlfriend, this is so hard to comprehend, I can't believe he's old enough, if you know what I mean. Her name is Makenzie, she's a sweet girl. They met playing softball together at the Bernard picnic.

Here they are playing with Cooper.

Mom and Cooper playing, this outfit is new, it's jammies with a hat, too cute. The hat is already to small.

Saturday, we headed out to farmers market, it was a beautiful day. We got Cooper dressed up in his new outfit his sister, Micayla, bought him. It's so cute. The shoes are so cute!

After Farmers markets we stopped down at Tom's Grandparents house where Tom's parents were, we actually park in there lot so we just walk over. See the blue hat? I got that at market, it's almost too small for his head and the next size up was way too big. Hopefully, his Grandma or Great Aunt can make him a few more. They are so cute.

Grandpa feeding Cooper.

Great Grandma Nita

That afternoon was The Hendricks picnic in East Dubuqe, most all families were there, it was nice seeing everyone.

My cousin Sara stole Cooper and wouldn't let anyone have him. LOL He loved her and fell right asleep in her arms.

Taylor, Olivia and Erin, (Taylor and Erin are Mike Hilby's kids) and Olivia is Sara Hilby's. They loved on Cooper all day.

Sunday was grocery shopping day, then off to the Gun Club for dinner, mom and dad were cooking.
Cooper loves his shirt from Aunt Steph however his poor jeans are getting too short. I'm on the lookout for new ones!

Great Grandma Lynch

Mom and Dad's friends, Gary and Margaret from Leisure Lake, they were loving on Cooper too.

Here is Cooper and Greenlee, Greenlee's and her mom Codi, came to the breastfeeding group on Tuesdays when Cooper and I did before I went back to work. I didn't know her parents belong to the Gun Club as well so it was a nice surprise. They are exactly 1 month a part. Cooper being older. One day they may know each other.  They are lying on a pool table. Oh and Copper's sweatshirt is Greenlee's momma forgot one! LOL It has little ruffles but it did the trick.

Mom hard at it in the kitchen. She cooked meatloaf, not one of my favorite meals but it was delicious. Especially her potatoes and gravy.

There's dad hard at it as well.

Tom brought a high chair to our table thinking he would sit in it. I didn't think he would but Cooper seems to love it. He looks so grown up in it. I got the new one at home all set up and it's much bigger than this one, more pics of that later.

And of course he had to have a blowout! We can hardly go anywhere without him having a blow out. So thank God momma put jammies in his diaper bag.

He loves his Great Grandma

It was a wonderful weekend. It was great spending it with family and friends. Cooper is on spoiled boy!
