Busy weekend

What a wonderful weekend it was, Friday night Tom and I went out for dinner at Yen Chings for some Chinese food, it was yummy. After dinner we went home and watched the World Series, it was quiet night and very relaxing. The game wasn't too exciting because we wanted to see Texas win it but that didn't happen so we just went to bed.

Saturday morning, I got up for our specialty Jazzercise class at 8:45, it's always a fun class where 5 or 6 instructors all teach different songs and we get to dress up for each song. Unfortunately I didn't get any pictures of me but I'm sure I'll see some on FB or at the center, but here are a few of the other girls.

Shelly dressed up Burlesque for the song "Burlesque" it was so funny, she had a big bra on that was stuffed full and in this song there are lots of shimmy's so she had lots of fun with it.

Julie is dressed up as a Farmer for a farmer song but I can't remember the name of the song.

Here Judy is dressed up as a doctor for a song called "Medicine" I think.

Another one of Judy, her song here is Waka Waka, so she's dressed up African like.

There were 3 other instructors, me, Linda and Lisa. My songs were "The Sound of Sunshine" where I wore a hat that looked like a sun, a beach towel around my neck, a yellow shirt and white capri's, nothing to exciting with that one. Then I had "Hawaiian Roller Coaster Ride" where I had my palm tree capri's on, a grass skirt, sunglasses, a lei and a beach hat. My third song was "The Joker" I wore Tom's scary Joker costume with mask and all. We had lots of fun and it's always a great turn out.

After class Tom and I headed up to Whitetail to close up the camper. We thought about staying but decided to just close it up and come home. It was sad to say good bye but I know next year will be totally different with having a little baby in the family. It's going to be so exciting and we can't wait.

Slides are all put in :(

Tom flushing out the toilet.

Bye Bye until next year, we will miss you!

After closing up the camper we came home to to watch the Hawkeye and maybe go out, but we thought of something much more fun. We decided to make different things out of pumpkins, right out of our pumpkin patch. Just that we did, we made Pumpkin Bars, Pumpkin Rolls, and Banana pumpkin bread. Cutting the pumpkins and puree them was the toughest part but we did it.

Here I am trying to gut the pumpkins, this is the grossest part and it's not fun at all.

This is the first time we got to use our new cookbook holder, instead of a cookbook, we had our recipes printed we found all the recipes on the internet. Thanks Mom, this worked out great!

Tom was in charge of the food processor and the Kitchenaid. Having both of these in the kitchen make cooking so much easier. We love the Kitchenaid - thanks Linda!

So here are the pumpkin bars and the banana pumpkin break. The bars were tricking getting out of the pan so we cut it in half which worked out good for storing it. The frosting/icing is the best part.

The pumpkin rolls we didn't actually bake until Sunday, however we did whip up the batter and frosting so everything was ready to go.

Sunday morning was a dreary day so we slept in. We wanted to get outside and get our yard all ready for winter but since it was a rainy day we decided to just stay in and relax.

17 Weeks

I'm 17 weeks pregnant today!

Size of Baby: Baby H is now about the size of a Turnip and measures 5 inches long and weighs
  5 ounces.
Total Weight Gain/Loss: Oops, forgot to weigh myself this morning. Darn!

Baby's heartbeat at last visit: 119 BPM
Maternity Clothes: Most of the time, especially my work clothes, they are just so much more comfortable.

Movement:  I don't think I've felt anything, but patiently waiting.
Sleep: I've been sleeping great! I usually have to get up once a night to go to the bathroom but other than that I've been sleeping great.
What I Miss: Besides beer, there nothing that I really miss, not much makes me turn up my nose but every time I eat I feel so full afterwards so I think I need to cut back on how much I'm eating. Especially sweets!
Cravings: Still nothing major, but I feel like I'm hungry ALL the time.
Symptoms: No symptoms yet, just my belly getting bigger.
Best Moment This Week: Meeting with Spahn and Rose about our basement, they are drawing up our design so we can start on our basement so we can have an extra bedroom! Also getting to meet with 2 daycare facilities, ABC Learning and Little Rascals. Both have waiting list for newborns until June and/or July so I'm glad I called when I did so we can get our names on the list. We still have to decide which place we like best.

2011 Halloween Parade

Me, Tom and Micayla all went to the Halloween Parade last night, it was a beautiful night. Brandon got called into work so we dropped him off then headed downtown to the Parade. Normally it's cold and rainy, tonight it was a perfect night for a Parade. The parade is always a long one and tonight was no exception, it was about an hour and a half but well worth it.

Here are a few pics of some of the different floats, the phone camera didn't take the best pics but I got a few good ones.

The start of the parade, both sides of the streets were jammed packed, it's always a popular parade.

I never was good at taking these kind of pictures

The McGraw-Hill Float - They ended up winning 1st place for the best float.
They were all zombies and did a dance to Thriller, it was pretty good.

Here's the float but you can't see much of it, oh well.

Mr. and Mrs. Dodd

Friday night we were honored to be invited to Diane Lochner's wedding, we had a blast. Unfortunately we didn't get many "good" pictures.

The wedding was at Holy Trinity church, it was a sweet mass but you could tell they just wanted to get to the reception! LOL After the ceremony, me, Tom, Kristi and Chris went to the Moose, I thought a virgin Bloody Mary sounded delicious and of course some popcorn, they have the best popcorn down there, well come to find out the vodka is mixed in with the bloody Mary mix so I couldn't have that and the bartender said they didn't have any NA beer so I was stuck drinking water :( We didn't stay too long, enough for everyone but me have 2 beers. I was the DD or course, we picked Chris and Kristi up on our way down to the ceremony. The reception was at Happy's it was decorated nicely and the food was good. They had an open bar up until the food was served. I did finally get to have a bloody Mary and it was yummy, but not as good as The Moose's. They served Chicken and roast beef, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, coleslaw and a roll. Everything was delicious. Mom and dad picked out some good seats because we were one of the first to go through the line. However the line was right next to our table so everyone was staring at us eating and you could tell they were hungry.

Here are a couple of pictures before dinner. The flash on my phone was so bright that you could tell my Tom and Chris's expression they could hardly see. LOL

And the happy couple, again, not a great picture: You have to look close, they are dancing.

After the reception, we took Chris and Kristi back home and of course we were hungry so Tom and I ended up eating Taco's from Taco John's, it was so good but definitely not what we needed.

The rest of the weekend was pretty uneventful, Kristi and I were supposed to go to a Lingerie/toy party that my cousin, Kara, was having, but neither of us had any motivation to get up and do anything so we decided to stay home and relax and relaxed we did all the way till Sunday night. I did some laundry and that was about it.

I forgot to mention last Thursday we finally went to Spahn and Rose and they are drawing up our basement so we can start working on that, I'm so excited to finally get another room so we can start decorating the baby's room.

16 Weeks

Today I am 16 weeks pregnant!
I couldn't figure out which picture I like better so here's both.

Size of Baby: Baby H is now about the size of an Avocado and measures 4 1/2 inches long and weighs
 3 1/2 ounces.

Total Weight Gain/Loss: I think I'm +5 at my appointment Tuesday, but I had my tennis shoes on, so going forward I'm just going to weigh myself at home every Wednesday. LOL

Baby's heartbeat at last visit: 119 BPM

Maternity Clothes: Most of the time! They are just so much more comfortable, however I'm in need of more shirts, especially work shirts. I think I need to make a trip out of town since we don't have much in Dubuque for maternity clothes.

Gender: We will be finding out on November 26th at our Gender Reveal Party!

Movement:  Nothing yet but patiently waiting.

Symptoms: Monday afternoon I started having some right side pain and later that afternoon I was having some lower abdominal pain. I thought maybe I just over did it at Jazzercise but the pain just wouldn't go away. It wasn't anything major but a dull achy pain. I went to bed early Monday night and hoped to wake up feeling great however the pain was still there. I was nervous but since I wasn't bleeding or anything I had some relief and knowing my doctor's appointment was that afternoon was a relief as well. If I didn't have an appt. I would have been calling to get me in. Come to find out my dull achy pain is my belly stretching thanks to the doc confirming that and today I feel great!

Best Moment This Week: Getting to hear our baby's heartbeat. It's the best sound and I'm so glad everything is OK. We could hear every time baby H moved, the doctor said he/she's an active baby.

We also celebrated Tom and Linda's 40th wedding anniversary with a surprise party at our house, it was a great day and I think they really enjoyed themselves.

40th Wedding Anniversary

Saturday was Tom and Linda's 40th wedding anniversary and we decided to do something special for them, throw them a little surprise party. It wasn't really a surprise for Linda because somehow she got included in on an email that her sister was sending to me. We're not quite sure how it happened but she felt terrible. It was no biggie, she probably would have figured it out anyways. The surprise was that she didn't realize who we all invited. We had a wonderful turn out and we thank everyone for making there day special.

Everyone is here and waiting for the guests of honor.

And they're here!

We had a great night with lots of great food. We even got to sit out by the fire, unfortunately, I didn't get any pictures of that, it was a great fire and a great night.

Friday night was another great night, Tom and I went out to dinner with 2 couples that live in our neighborhood and all 3 of us are pregnant. I'm so glad we are all getting to know each other because come next summer we'll have to have lots of play dates with our kids. It will be so much fun.

Now tonight is the Bear's game, let's hope for a victory so Tom has a good night at work. LOL We have our doctor's appointment Tuesday, I can't wait to hear the baby's heartbeat, it's a great sound plus it's refreshing knowing my baby is doing great. Some day's I just don't have any symptoms or anything and it makes me wonder sometimes. But I try not to think about the negative things, I know everything is fine!
